It was 1989, I was 16, my boyfriend was 19. He was working far away & I didn’t know if I’d see him again, I’d lay there with my little self, crying listening to this on repeat. Fast forward to 2024, we’ve been married 34 years & we have 5 beautiful children. We’ve been through lots of ups and downs but in the end, I was with him, & it was so worth it. One of us will be listening to this alone in the end & the other will be waiting in heaven. 💕💕💕

I was 17 in 1989 and my girl friend called in the radio station and she requested this song for me she was in Hawaii. At the time, I was just driving home from work and I heard she had dedicated this song for me. As soon as I got home, I picked up the phone and called her! I wish the clock would have turned back time so I can love her more and married her!

In early 1990, I finally left my abusive husband taking my 4 and 5 year old sons. In June of 1990 my dear mother died suddenly of stomach cancer. I felt lost and alone. This beautiful song by Richard Marx was my mantra, it kept me going. Thank you. Songs can help guide us through dark and difficult times.

This has been one of 'our songs' for many years. 44yrs in fact. It would have been our 42nd wedding anniversary on 20th March. My wonderful husband lost his fight to cancer on 15th March 2024, we would have been married for 42 fantastic years. I still can't believe he is no longer here with us. This is one of my wife's and my favorite songs. My wife Annette Saulino went to be with the Lord on November 26, 2019. We were married 34 years. I can't wait to see her when I get to heaven. I have this assurance, because I have accepted Jesus Christ as my savior. He died for my wife and my sins. I will be reunited one day for all of eternity with her, because of what Jesus did for all of us. Everybody out there can have that same assurance. I still cry a lot, cause I miss her so. I met the love of my life back in 89 (year this song was released)..she had to go back home to England so we were oceans apart...the lyrics to this song matched us perfectly as if Richard wrote it for us. We are still happily married to this day :-)
