I used to sing this song. Long before I met Mimi, I sang it at shows. Years later I performed with Mimi at the Vancouver Folk Music Festival. She sat beside me in one of the workshops. There was a moment in one of my songs when I lost the thread. Sensing my dilemma, Mimi reached over and placed her hand gently on my back. A moment later the lyrics came back to me. She was a resonant human being, a courageous soul with the most beautiful eyes. In this video, along with photographs of Mimi and Richard, I added other pictures of beloved artists from the same era, many of whom have passed on. Richard's song remains as relevant today as it did when first recorded. And I still feel Mimi's hand on my back. DL
