Actually, Engel was well out of the picture before this year of Lincoln was conceived. He worked on the '61 which started the series, but then after a bit of political flim-flamming by the Ford hierarchy he moved to Chrysler to take over design there as Virgil Exner's replacement. The design team led by Arnott "Buzz" Grisinger was responsible for the final design of '66. Now then, if you happen to need somebody who knows these cars from bumper to bumper, to help revive it from its suspended animation (and even advise a few subtle upgrades to really make it a regular street roller), holla back.
