Richard, I've heard it said that in the beginning, the Earth was only a vibration and that it roared into existence. In the beginning, there was only sound. Thank you for your roar. The sounds that flow from you are so peace creating within me. So affirming to my life. Thank you, Richard Rohr. May you never stop Rohring.

When my daughter was about 2 or 3, I asked her if she knew what God is. We had never discussed God or taken her anywhere for her to even know the word God. She said "yes, spinning". Then she ran off to play.

Love Father Rohr. A man who truly teaches an openness of the mind, heart and soul toward awareness of God in everything. A mystic in his own right who would never admit to being a mystic. Humble yet confident, loving without prejudice toward the reality of what is. A man who admits his faults, for none of us are perfect, yet strives for all to head toward Perfection. All who listen and watch his teachings are searching for a deeper connection toward our relation to God regardless of our beliefs. Doesn't put God in a box, but opens us to all channels.

I haven’t been to church for years (as a child we went every Sunday), during my early adult years I found myself more and more frustrated (and feeling like I was wasting my time) listening to priest who would constantly contradict themselves during a sermon (I actually listened) and I am one of those people Father Richard talks about, who left to church ... he is such an amazing gift ... hopefully future generations are blessed with more priests like him. Nothing against the other priests, I know they have good intentions, they just didn’t resonate with me. Bless you!

...The power of atoms existing not in the electrons themselves but in the relationships between them is so beautiful. At that moment I found it ironic that the symbol for the American Atheist association is a diagram of an atom. Most groups who reject God seem to be rejecting incorrect concepts of God, which is good! God is not a being but being itself.

In my chemistry classes we were given films to understand the structure of molecules and how they interact....in every living thing...sounding of God through ecology...systems and relationships within and without of myself as an individual....how can anyone be isolated....from God?...it is God's perfection....many blessings!

Panentheism is key. When I was praying to G-d "out there" somewhere, I was making no progress. When I awakened to Panentheism, everything made sense. It was then that I experienced a profound kundalini awakening and instantly found myself face to face with the Mother Source and her realm of ecstatic Golden Light. The Divine is inside every living Being as that person's True Self or evolving Soul. The Soul is the Divine evolving person and sacred Self hood. There is also an "always present" and unchanging Self or Spirit, which is always the case. The Soul becomes united with its Universal Spirit aspect. This is enlightenment and salvation or integration and wholeness.

This talk by Richard Rohr is very meaningful, which is melting down barriers and boundaries from the catholic church for me. The rectangle, which may had a mirror over it, also suggest the mirroring of the church is missing. This alter has a hole in its soul, just as we have holes in our soul. This hole on this alter is unexpected, “nothing” and yet reveals itself as everything. It seems to me because of this hole there is this need to leap from the known to the unknown within this alter. It takes faith to make this leap into this hole, black as the rectangle shows, as to counteract the terror and despair. This hole in this alter seems to be just a letting go of this vacuum and just a place to begin within the Divine flow. Boy I wish the church had more guidance in this emptiness and paradoxically the hole on this alter could become the center in Essence and our actions could be more guided by Divine awareness.

He speaks elsewhere about precisely that. In another talk I watched recently he spoke of Celtic Christianity in those parts of Britain that the Romans never reached, where God in nature is a huge aspect. Also talked of pre-Christian pagan beliefs where the divine in nature was worshipped. I've also read his writings where he talks of other indigenous peoples. If he doesn't talk of it here, it's not 'cos he doesn't know/never talks of it.

The atom analogy doesn't really work, as this is a "model" to assist understanding. The electron for instance is a wave, not a particle, so the "Solar system" comparison doesn't really fit. Ultimately though the content of this talk and the premise that God is "more verb than noun" i.e. "Being" , this aligns with Eckhardt Tolle's account of God. Just finished reading "The Power of Now" and have stumbled upon this talk which echoes some of what is discussed in this book (excepting that Tolle does not align himself with any denomination or religion). The intelligence of the universe (cosmic intelligence) is assured, at least in my reading of life, too many Jungian correspondences for me to conclude otherwise. What is best of all, is that I no longer need argue it's veracity because I KNOW :).....happy to dwell.....silently.

Sorry but Christ IS the only way to the Father. The unitive experience is open to everyone and taught by all the natural religions. Christianity is a Divine Revelation from above. Christianity reveals a much higher reality. But only when a persons heart can truly open to the living Christ, then can the Logos come down “from the right hand of the Father” and come into us and lift us to the Godhead and the beatific vision we call Theoria. No other religion can bring one to this. Surely there is truth in all the world religions but Christianity is the highest revelation given to man. This knowledge should never cause Christian’s to be judgmental or look down on any others. It is a cause for deep humility. This understanding is all but forgotten in the modern world.

It's great to hear Richard speak, although, this theory leaves so many unanswered questions for me. One being that if God is the trinity(the continuous filling of buckets on the wheel) and it is considered that we are built in this image, then where do things like pedophilia murder, nastiness etc come in to this...... 🤔 Is God also involved, completely covering all things, or, is it that there is "something" else at play that is the conductor of the ego? If someone has an answer to this, or a theory, I'd be very much appreciative. Richard also spoke about us being the 4th member at the table yet states everything and all is in the trinity. I found that contradictive. Its a shame because I am deeply interested in what he has to say ✌️

Richard I see your point. No I sense that we are not the 4th person of the Trinity, but by being born again we could say, a resurrected new creation. In solidarity with Jesus the man. He being the first fruit of many brethren. The cosmic Christ/God in all. Ref Galations 1/16

Richard Einstein once said in a moment of insight,"evil is merely the absence of God!" All that is evil is the absence of love life community peace and rest etc. Ref the mirror I mulled over this as well. Then the thought came to me that as I look at it I am as one with God the Son. We are not the fourth but one member of the Trinity which is in the process of being transformed into the image of Christ the Son. Galatians 1/16 was the Rhema word which began my transformation. Richard Rohr has also helped to verbalise things that I began to see with the eyes of my heart (Ephesians). But be warned Christian Evangelical fundamentalism will call us heretics. Richard God be with you and keep seeking, the finding is the journey towards our last day itself. Take care❤

Pns p. 189 “bliss awaits those who can possibly make it through the tragedy of what has happened to Christ in the Church.” Ws p. 64 “As I now see it Christianity has perpetuated a shortsighted view of Christ and, consequently, a shortsighted view of the rest of us. Christ’s passage was the revelation of the passage of every human being, and any misreading of him is a misreading of the whole of humanity. Investigating Christ’s human experiences in terms of consciousness or self opens up a whole new dimension of his Truth and revelation, and not only his, but our own and that of the whole of creation.” Rc p. 282 “The mind can find no definitive satisfaction or fulfillment with mere concepts and hearsay. What man is seeking is the living experiential reality of the Truth, his own immediate experience of this truth. Until he does, he will go right on questioning and being dissatisfied. Even if man knew the truth, he could never be fulfilled by merely ‘believing’ it. He is only fulfilled by experientially living it - knowing it firsthand.” Ws p. 107 “To say that Christ’s self or consciousness was eternal gives an entirely different picture and meaning to Christ than if we say his self or consciousness was not eternal…I think the West will come upon its own set of problems when it faces the impermanence of Christ’s self or consciousness, but, at the same time, this will reveal an entirely new dimension of Christ’s revelation - of this I am certain.” Ws p. 156 “But who can understand death and resurrection coming after a life of union and oneness with God? Who can understand the true nature of this death and what the resurrection reveals of Christ’s divine nature? Because of this mystery I regard Christianity as the most difficult and mystical of all religions; Christ is the most unbelievable and unknown Truth there is - and the most difficult of all Truths.” Rc p. 78 “Sometimes the impression is given that Christianity has a monopoly on forgiveness, salvation, savior, eternal life, God’s Spirit, grace, and so on, when, in fact, Christianity took all this straight from Judaism! The revelation of ‘Christ’ had nothing to do with any of this and changed none of it.” Rc p. 83 “Basically, there is no such thing as ‘Christian mysticism’ because Christianity - transformation into Christ - is the essence of mysticism.” Rc p. 140 “To think the anthropomorphic biblical interpretation of God ‘generating’ or ‘begetting’ an Uncreated ‘Son’ could have justified a transition in the Church’s whole understanding of the Trinity and Christ, can only be put down as the most flagrant wrong turn in the entire history of Christianity.” Rc p. 144 “There has to be God (Logos) before there is any incarnation of the Logos - before there is any Christ and before there is the created man Jesus. No question, the Creed must be totally restated, Christians today are not the semi-polytheists of yesterday.” Rc p. 157 “To my knowledge, however, the Greeks never agreed hypostasis meant persona - and indeed it does not. In time, however, in the West at least, hypostasis and person were used as synonymous terms. So due to this error, there occurred another switch from the original hypostasis to person - a monumental wrong turn as regards a true understanding of the Trinity and Christ.” Rc p. 170 “Like the fathers, Christians would be horrified to think they were polytheists or believed in three gods. But this is why the Trinity is kept at a distance, declared a ‘mystery’ incapable of the human mind to grasp. This is also why the Trinity means relatively nothing to the average Christian and plays no part in his spiritual life.” Rc p. 201 “Sometimes we wonder how Western civilization ever became so self-oriented compared to other civilizations that were more oriented to the benefit of everyone over their individual selves. Well, who invented the individual and particular ‘person’ or self, and who gave it ontological priority over everyman’s common human nature? Christianity!” Rc p. 242 “What few people realize, however, is that the official Church or Christian language is totally premised on this use of idioms instead of on the truth of Christ.” Rc p. 248 “No question, the C of P is the most deceiving ruse in all of Christian history a ruse responsible for totally wrong views of Christ, the Trinity and the man Jesus.” Rc p. 249 “Yet the more divine one makes the Logos’ human nature, the more Christ fades from the picture and the more Christianity deteriorates to a Jesus-cult.” Rc p. 257 “But who knows what people think they are praying to or worshiping? We can probably say for certain they are not praying to the dual natures of Christ!” Rc p. 279 “Eliminate the term ‘person’, and how is Christ to be envisioned as a single being? Without theology’s absolute dependence on person as an individual being, its Christologies would go down like a row of dominoes.” Rc p. 291 “this is exactly what the Incarnation is telling us: not only is mankind not that bad, but rather, it is of greatest worth to God.” Rc p. 300 “Even the best of theologians are reluctant to admit any radical existential change in human nature - much less an ontological change. Instead, they assure us everyone will go on just the same - only better, of course.” Rc p. 318 “The day Christianity lost this understanding of deification as the way man is saved, is the day it lost Christ.” Rc p. 323 “That down the road, Christianity was turned into the narrow, naïve and childish view we have today - i.e., only the man Jesus is Christ, only Jesus could ever be eternally one with God - is the inevitable loss of the whole revelation of the Incarnation, and, consequently, of Christ and Christianity…Christianity’s exclusive, boxed-in view of Jesus and Christ, not only aborts man’s spiritual journey, but will be its own undoing - why? Simply because it is not the Truth of ‘Christ’.” Rc p. 335 “To say Christian theology is ‘complicated’ is the understatement of all time. It is an unadulterated mess. It so defies common logic as to require man to forfeit his intellectual integrity in order to ‘believe’.” Rc p. 465 “What is unfortunate, however, is those who write the history of the early development of Christian thought and doctrine, consistently rely on the present-day Aristotelian rendition of it. It could be said this is a deliberate attempt to eliminate any possible ‘Platonic’ understanding of Christ as a universal in order to make Christ solely one particular man - Jesus, of course.” Rc p. 486 “Loss of self is the very foundation of Christianity.” Ecc p. 82 “The primary purpose of my writing, however, was less the subject of no-self than to put into the field of Mystical Theology a whole stage of the spiritual journey presently missing.” www.bernadetterobertsisnotmyguru.com

I don't particularly agree with Richard Rohr's redefinition of "Christ" to mean God as incarnate. "Christ" names the Holy Spirit invested one AND the Holy Spirit giver. Tho I certainly resonate with his characterization of the 2nd person of the Trinity as "the map of everything." In my terminology, God the Word is "both architect and plans" of all creation.

KK KK This depends on what benchmark you use for what is true. A s a Christian I use the bible and the teachings of Jesus. Mr. Rohr uses bits of the bible he likes, Hindu and Buddhist theology, New Age Universal spirituality, materialistic science, Darwinism, ancient mysticism, evolutionary psychology and mind emptying meditation techniques based on the Hindu seven chakras as a method of freeing the inner god in yourself. All of these teachings go against the Jesus he claims to believe in.

This is one of my favourite false teachers. No Christianity is not about divine relationship in and within creation. Jesus says "Do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword." Christianity is about Christ crucified as atonement for our sins and new life through God's Spirit.

This guy has put on dark glasses. He skips over JOHN 1:1, For God so loved...but to all who received Him he gave power to become children of God.” So not all people have that power. Paul says, “I preach nothing but Christ and him crucified.” Rohr teaches that Jesus and the Christ are not the same. He is the rohring lion coming to devour and destroy. Look at how he disparages the church (the body of Christ) and says that for 2000 years all of Christianity got it wrong. Now he has this mysterious knowledge which no one can understand except for him. What is Enlightenment? Dare to think! Don’t listen to those who tell you that to understand them you must first give up your thinking.

The human condition was totally untenable so we needed to believe in the one god who was all in all, except he is not all evil. He is all good. Why? The reason is simple, because our human nature is good, loving, selfless and not bad at all. The search for knowledge was called evil (the fruit of the knowledge of good an evil.). When in effect Eve was the beginning of our self consciousness and a hero for desiring to eat.
