I'm so happy that Thomas finally found happiness with someone!! I loved the movie so much, I went to see it twice it reminded me of how much I love Downton Abbey. Apparently there will be a second movie, I hope they won't screw their relationship up, Richard has so much potential and I need more scene with them together ! I'm also very glad they give us an amazing deleted scene!

I just realised....why Barrow kept a distance (romantically) and said "found a friend" instead of showing more affections/PDA ....because he's afraid of disappointment, either by losing him, objected to ridicule, or by being at risk of losing his job 😭 my poor barrow ❤️

The guy giving a precious pendant to his lover much reminds me of people going to military and giving their tags to those they love, as if it's their "hearts" and they'll come back to retrieve it. Or if they unfortunately can't go back then the lovers will keep it for them for eternity. Simple, yet a very meaningful gesture

I may not be living in the same time as Thomas but I really do feel for him considering the similarities in our lives. I’m glad they gave us some hope that Thomas will find happiness. Really do hope they bring these two back and give them a good storyline in the 2nd movie.

I absolutely love this, but I also wish there was more compilations of Baxter and Thomas. Like after O'Brien, Baxter was so refreshing and so good for Thomas. At the end what he wanted the most was a friend who could understand him, and she was that. I love Thomas just with friends. Is so soft in a Slytherin way.

I never liked Thomas, but then when I found out he was gay I immediately started to love him. I love that he has found some happiness. If there is a second movie I hope they show more of these guys. OH MY GOD! @Solariene this is sooooo beautiful! I have shivers down my spine! The song is like made for them, so perfect and so fitting! Rumour has it that there's gonna be a movie number two. Please promise me you'll do exactly the same with the scenes, their time on screen together like in this case!!! It's sooooooo beautifully done. So sweet and tender. I'm so happy that after all that he's been trough Thomas has finally found happiness. They are so perfect together. I just hope they'll get more screen time in the second movie. Fingers crossed.

The second I found this song I immediately thought it’d go perfect with a Thomas edit. I was pleased when I found this video and have watched it quite a few times since finding it, which was quite awhile back! I much appreciate you putting captioning for both what they’re saying and the lyrics. You did a great job on this video, it all blends very well! In the UK, The Buggery Act of 1533 during the reign of Henry VIII and convictions were punishable by death. Female homosexuality was never explicitly targeted by any legislation, and was also assumed that lesbianism occurred in an extremely small pocket of the female population. In the time frame of Downton Abbey, homosexuality would result in a ten year prison term. The writers could have expanded on the character of Thomas, but danced lightly around the issue because most of the other characters would have probably not been able to accept Thomas for who he was.

It must have been very difficult back then for gay men or woman. The 60s and seventies Revolution for gays have made the way for young gay men and women and the lgbtq community. We've come a long ways!
