I heard somewhere that a lot of this is about one of Bryan's friends being killed by a drunk driver, and that the person found god and was portraying that they were now this righteous person, despite their past. Not sure if that's actually part of it, but it makes sense when you look at the lyrics throughout the album - a lot of pain and grief.

Slaughterhouse 2 grew on me

Sit & Mourn prob my favorite track of the year, so far. Don't Reach For Me/Blinding Faith are a close second.

Actually, i think it was in Bryan's interview in The Downbeat Podcast he said that the biggest influence in this record (and also in the singles they released last year, Deep in the Willow and Everything is Quiet Now), was Gojira, because they were really engaged with their music after touring with them a couple of years ago, that's why they have these like heavy breakdowns mixed with ambient sounds and clean guitars

That little hum kind of makes me think of like, a horror movie. Like an A24 film or something. Same with the videography of these music videos. I also agree with the Korn like sounds.

Great album, absolutely in love with the production on this thing. Some of the fattest guitar and bass tones I've ever heard, drums sound massive as well. Love the ambience and sense of space on some of the tracks like Sit & Mourn.
