Big fan of Gerald McRaney and his characters over the years. He's a lung cancer survivor and also a rarity in Hollywood having been married to Delta Burke for over 30 years.

@@R_M.P There’s footage of her as Miss Florida in an episode of Lost Treasures of the NFL. She was there for a WFL game during the 1970s. It was some find.

The James Garner story is pure gold. It is at least a generation ago, but we need to acknowledge the legends. Gerald McRainey is no joke, but he still humbly remembers Garner being a gentleman. I'm a Gerald fan, now.

Im 46 and have great memories of watching Simon and Simon with my parents. He's a gentleman and an interesting man. I'm also a Jim Garner fan and was pleased to learn of their connection and Gerald's admiration for Jim. The real gold in Hollywood is people like this.

This man is an incredible actor. I’m not surprised about James Garner. Not only was he a genuinely good guy but he also disliked the network executives and eventually filed suit against them over his pay in the Rockford Files and won.

I’m a big fan of Jericho and McRaney’s roll. However, he had what might be one of the best lines in all of the West Wing with his guest performance. Meeting with Leo (John Spence) and discussing a war crimes treaty at the UN, McRaney says to Leo, “All wars are crimes.” Still gives me goosebumps.

I literally just searched for 'Gerald McRaney interviews' and had no idea I'd get one that was only 3 days old! This is so awesome. I was wondering what he was up to these days. He seems so gracious and appreciative and not bitter like some actors. Very cool James Garner story!

I have loved Mr. McCraney's work since Simon and Simon, and everythng since. The fact that he found Jim Garner so kind only makes this better! Todd Konoske ( NOT in the walker..yet)

Loved Major Dad very much. He also played the dad in Never Ending Story. Sad to see him so aged (a sign of my own aging), but glad he appears to be doing well!

Gosh, I love him!!! Since I first saw Rick Simon I was a goner. And he’s so talented!! I even like him when he’s the villain. He’s constantly in demand!! He’s the best.

Why doesn't anyone talk about Promised Land. It was one of his underrated TV shows. I guess because he had so many great projects over the years.

I am, sadly, television deficient. No tv here most of the time. I still remember all the stuff I did get to see him in! I watched everything I could when I lived in LA, but when I moved to the sticks in Arizona I had to go without! Couldn't watch most of this stuff. 😞🌵🌵👵🐺🖖💖

His character, George Hearst, in the series DEADWOOD was about as big an a**hole as anyone could be. Gerald pulled it off so well! I don't know how someone so nice could pretend to be so brutal. Great actor!

Remember a story, likely from TV Guide (Remember that?) that Garner had a fight scene with another actor & the actor hit him. Garner, thinking it was an accident, let it go but when it happened again Garner nailed him nearly knocking the guy out.

McRaney is so good, especially in Deadwood. The irony is, George Hearst was, in reality, NOTHING like the character. He was a very nice guy, and his wife was wonderful. But, Milch's creative license was great. Best show, ever.

Nobody is going to mention him saying: “I was fairly quick. I could do a ten flat 100 in those days….” The world record is 9.58, Carl Lewis ran it 9.86. Hopefully he either misspoke or did it just to gauge how full of s**t the individual with whom he is having a conversation is or how well they are listening.
