9 жыл бұрынDescription Home movie taken at Richmond, Va. Great shot of RF&P steam locomotive #620. A huge 4-8-4, with the beautiful Baldwin Disk drivers. Then there is a EMD E-7 A&B lash-up running by. Then last but not lease, the Richmond Terminal Alco switcher #1, looking idle. Hope you enjoy!!!

My Great Uncle, Gordon Kuper, was an Engineer on the RF&P. He ran the last Steam Engine and the Last pre-Amtrak passenger train.

Great video but no one has mentioned that N&W loco several tracks on one of the shuttle trains to Petersburg.

Sharon Evans Is it an E class? I didn't realize N&W power went north of Petersburg.

N&W supplied the power and equipment for the shuttle train and ACL provided the crews. Was the last steam assignment for them. They operated as ACL trains since most of their run was on the ACL. As far as to type, not sure if an M or E.

Well, they went even farther than Richmond, not including the Cincinnati and Columbus lines and anything leading to it. They had a line stretch to Hagerstown, Maryland. Also the locomotive is an N&W E2.

Sadly No. But, there has to be a Kickstarter to make a steam locomotive campaign called “The RF&P 4-8-4 Trust” to build a full size replica of RF&P #612 “Governor Claude A. Swanson” so it can run excursions between D.C., Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina.

ACL's E7A # 529 rolled out of the factory in August of 1945. Looks like a few years of fading paint after that.
