There will always be something humble about early Minecraft maps in TF2. You can tell they're from a time where people were still experimenting with Hammer. They're really good at igniting that early 2010s energy only a handful official in-game maps like Mann Manor do. Not all of them are fun but I do respect them for the hundreds of hours people spent creating and playing on them.

Ahhh, the good old days of TF2 Minecraft trade servers. I will never forget the days I had so much fun talking to people on those servers, making friends, and of course, trading hats.

...They are also both great games Minecraft was about to die one time, but got massive popularity and updates to this day. We can only hope for same fate for tf2

The video hasn't started and I already know it's gonna be great. I have a huge amount of nostalgia for both games, especially Minecraft. Been playing Minecraft since 2011.

To this day I’ve spent hours on Minecraft trade servers but have never actually traded on any.

TF2 has such a rich history, and the way that certain game communities (the Touhou and Minecraft communities being some of the bigger ones) intertwine with it is fascinating.

These two games are the first two games I played on PC. TF2 is my all time favorite game and will continue to be long after I stop playing it. I've more or less stopped playing Minecraft already because I've played it so much in the past I can't enjoy it for more than 30 minutes, but it's still dear to my heart. I almost forgot how intertwined they were, as the days of me playing on TF2 Minecraft maps are over. Thanks for reminding me.

Cool. I never got into TF2 or Steam as a platform until a few years ago, and I played Minecraft for most of my life, but never played multiplayer servers. I missed some big things but I'm glad that you're here to explain those things, thank you.

oh the discord server I remember i was one of the first 300 members to join, and the absolute chaos that quickly piled up. from the threads, one of which was complaining, to the image someone posted that gave everyone a heart attack with a fake trojan virus embed. i remember the safe haven thread, the only one i spoke in. oh what a night thank you for that disaster, it was fun to watch

I've remade trade_minecraft_realms, trade_minecraft_ki, and pl_minecraft before. pl_minecraft is a special case, as I made it with functional teleports in RED spawn, a railtrack that is identical to the OG map, I used a resource pack to allow for certain impossibilities, like a balcony that's Smooth Stone Slabs and Oak Planks on the top. In fact, I made it for the recreation at 5:30 in this video. That *somebody* who's making the MC recreation is FUNKe, using existing mods for weaponry.

The two games I played the most as a kid, I got into both at around 2011. So nice to see they have more of a shared history than I thought

Started playing TF2 in 2011, during the Free to Play update, I was 12 years old. Minecraft 1.0 also released in 2011, not a coincidence both games have a lot of overlap.

My first tf2 experience was a minecraft server which had every class recreated perfectly.

TF2 and Minecraft were the video games I dreamed of playing as a child

These are the 2 most unique, classic, and most iconic games ever.

I remember an old trade server using a minecraft trade map, honestly I spent at least 100 of my 500 hours just on that server, if not more. Many fond memories there, though sadly it's not around any more and I haven't seen any other server use that same map.

used to play on this trade server a lot. it had this minecraft map. it was pretty fun

hearing richter saying 2b2t puts me in genuine panic because this is the last place i would have expected to hear the accursed name.
