Hi ScreenRanters! We hope you’re well. Rick and Morty is an animated TV show involving a lot of science. The show involves scientific concepts such as cloning and inter-dimensional travel. As well as many, many more. One other concept would be the multiverse. And with that, the various other versions of Rick and Morty. One of the most infamous cases being the Evil Morty! This mysterious character originally appeared as Eyepatch Morty. After being found out as an evil mastermind, he has wreaked havoc in the show. At least subtly...for now! But we know very little about the character and his secretive past. When TV characters are presented with barely any information, the internet will come to the rescue! They fill in the knowledge-blanks with theories! Which brings us onto the topic of today’s video, is Evil Morty actually Rick? We say yes!
In the video, we’ll take an in-depth look at this cryptic character. His actions on the show and the titbits of information we know for sure. Then we’ll go over the theory in detail. Such as what the theory is exactly. Then, we will look at the evidence and hints the show has provided us. How does his debut episode factor into him being a Rick? How are Rick and Evil Morty similar? Why is Evil Morty not a Morty? What does his campaign to become president of the Citadel tell us? How can a Morty be a Rick? I also feel like even though Rick is a genius you can only suppress and alter your memories so far b4 the truth bleeds free. I think We need to revisit season 3 episode 1 Rickchurian Candidate I think? I feel like C137 Rick has lost his family in one multiverse before so in a failed attempt to prepare his only Male grandson he went 100 times harder on EM eventually fracturing his psyche like MK Ultra and creating (using the rickest rick formula) the Rickest Morty (EM). Perhaps C137 cronenberged a multiverse already and in shame of failure and grief of another loss he rushed to another multiverse to start over. Assuming EM died. He didn't and that made EM snap. Remember b4 Rick turned himself in to The Galactic Feds Morty said he could forgive hurting him but not his mom. What if EM is a knob cranked to 100 n ripped off C137 Morty? Our Morty without a smidge of love from his Grandfather at all.

I didn't even take into account Doofus Rick as part of the theory. But I did theorize that there was a "Freaky Friday" style body swap and that Evil Morty was in fact a Rick.

8:45 If rick couldn't put his mind in a younger version of himself without losing himself he isn't likely to do that with a Morty. Rick's mind in Mortys body would still produce Rick's brainwaves, all the tortured Mortys were to protect the location of his mind controlled Rick. The rest of this video is all over the place. Im mot saying this theory isn't possible but if it's true it'll easily be the dumbest most unenjoyable reveal of the show.

In the end of the episode of "the tales of citadel" you can see some documents floating the dead campaign manager Morty of president Morty showing the evidence that evil Morty is actually now president Morty. The aims of evil Morty are very clear. Which logically means that we will see more of evil Morty in next season probably he'll try to kill rick c13O

So much has happened in my life since 2017 when season 3 ended. Went from quiting high school to work full time at Walmart to wearing a suit everyday for work. At one point everything was perfect. Then bam I was homeless. Wubalubadubdub!!!!!!!!!!

Not possible. The "detox" morty was refused with the "undetoxed" morty. Also, "detox" morty is wayyy too insecure to be that smart. There's no way he could be evil morty even if he tried.

I think we forgot the mysterious rick from the episode from season 3 when they put rick in a brainelizer what if the rick that killed Beth and her mom was EVIL MORTY because he was the only rick that Our rick hated and that’s why he is a theart because the rick we know will try to kill evil morty for doing what he did to the past (but our rick said that the memory was fabricated)

I always like the idea that Evil Morty is a Morty where his rick told him the truth and told him everything, the ultimate taboo. This idea branches off the theory that every Rick is not Rick but rather future Morty who time traveled to the past to fix his own childhood (or an alternate timeline variant) by posing as a grandfather that no one remembers who was named "rick". If Morty knew that he was just a rick, he would end up becoming more like a rick faster and because of his childhood morality, maybe even open his eyes to how evil all his future selves really are.

What if Evil Morty is actually the original C-137 from S1E6 (Rick Potion) where they blow up? Maybe somehow he came back from the dead and saw that this Rick and Morty had taken over his identity of him and his dead Rick. This could be possible since technically they didn't show a dead carcass of Morty in S3E1 (The Rickshaw Rickdemption), when Morty and Summer were digging the original Rick C-137's grave. I think that Evil Morty was easily able to pass as Morty to get Rick's portal gun and frame him in S1E10 (Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind)

None of that makes sense. 1st off BOTH Rick & Morty (from the new universe) were clearly very dead in "Rick Potion". And 2nd OUR Morty ended up with the portal gun before it got destroyed by the original Jerry from the Cronenburg universe, so what do you mean? I think "tall morty" from the Morty classroom at the citadel is much more likely to be the one who swapped consciousness with EM than Doofus Rick. I mean, ask yourself, could Morty make ovenless brownies?

The theory I had about how Rick and Morty got mind-swapped is, during a category 4 event when doing Morty's mind blowers, a Summer reversed the memory restoration. She put Rick's memories in Morty and vice-versa to see what would happen. Thus giving us Evil Morty.

S1E10 When saving Rick from Evil Morty, Morty C137 says “your lucky I’m not a rick” and Rick replies “point taken but this is no time for arcs”. S3E1 Rick transfers bodies multiple times, and in closing mentions “series arc” again. S3E7 Evil Morty becomes president, Evil Morty calls his assistant “young man” who replies “we are the same age!” (but not if Evil Morty is a Rick)

What if Evil Rick made a robot (EvilMorty) because regular Mortys weren't evil enough but then Evil MortyBorg tried to kill Evil Rick and succeeded switch bodys with a brain transfer then in Mortys body took back control of the Rick and made him have to control him so he couldn't turn on him again.

Club: How do you make a character like Rick relatable and likable? Dan Harmon: Oh, that’s easy, I think. If he worked at Verizon, you’d hate him, because it would be entitlement and all this stuff. But Rick always knows more than the audience, and always knows more than everybody in the room. Everyone watching has been in that position. We’ve all been Rick. But Rick really does have bigger fish to fry than anybody. He understands everything better than us. Theory: What if investigator rick was being controlled by EM. Fired Morty went on to try and assassinate Morty. EM wanted to make it certain that he would win and needed a reason for the people to be behind him (the attempted assassination).

Maybe Evil-Morty is Small-Rick. He is from the same universe as Tall-Morty. He was in school with all the other Mortys, he looked like a Rick but was called Tall-Morty. So maybe someone who looks like a Morty but is actually as smart as a Rick is just Small-Rick.

You missed something ....in that same episode with evil morty ,Rick and Morty of walking away Morty at the end morty is looking for a complement for saving him. Rick reply is “don’t break your arm patting yourself on the back and don’t get cocky it can lead to a lot of trouble believe me I know”..... but that’s a story for another time So rick knows evil morty I think he’s the original Morty

Also, in the Morty’s memories episode in the background there’s a single vial that is yellow or something. It’s the only memory juice of that color in the room. I wonder if that has some answers to the whole thing? Is that a Morty memory? Or is it a Rick memory? One where he wanted to forget about his original Morty? Evil Morty? Maybe that’s why Rick c137 didn’t recognize evil Morty and his eye patch? I wonder...

I will allow ur theory but the fact you didnt bring up BIG MORTY from the Tales from the Citadel EPISODE is in my opinion the best connection to ur theory. The Rick student in the class of Mortys would be the best choice to if Rick and MORTY switched. Also, not discussing Rick going from mind to mind to destroy the council of Ricks. The brain alyzer letting him change from insect to Rick to higher command Rick to so on. I can really help with theory because I watch the show a lot. Fan? yes, but I'm also one that tries to decipher the show.

When the cops were in Rick's mind they said you can't fake a memory. What if the nice Rick who turned down the citadel's offer was evil morty, and Rick c-137 was the Rick that made the offer so he knew about it? Also, what if that Rick went on to be the Rick mentioned by the mind-controlled Rick as being nuts and from the world between him and c-137?

Also, for anyone that says that Rick wouldn't have the rest of the memory of before and after c-137 killed the nice Rick's family, he explains that away in Morty's mind blowers when Morty says "How did I remember what happened after we left?"

What about "Slow Ric.... tall Morty" (pupil in the class in Tales of the Citadel) ? Is he a better candidate for a evil body swap than Dufus Rick?

You will find that all Rick and Morty episodes are simply a DRUNK MANS TALE. Have you ever spoke with a drunk man? They always have a some type of story which just can't be believed. When this BEAUTIFUL SERIES comes to its end, we will find Rick in a bar drunk, talking to himself or some other drunks. Most likely at a bar outside of Area 51.

Does anyone remember the slow rick at the citadel who was in school because he thought he was a morty, and then you got evil morty who’s amazingly smart and also about to be president of the Citadel, I think Rick swapped brains and dumbed down the mind of slow “Rick” or mortys brain so he wouldn’t remember what happen , and I still don’t know what would his motivation for all that to happen to be but I know it’s a good theory
