These folks don't need gym memberships. Their lives are full of arduous activities, like cliff scrambling, sheep hefting, jigging, rowing, net hauling...day traders need not apply. This is what made The Mercer Report great; the celebration of Canadian folks, just being themselves.

Cheers ~ I live in the city now but I always love watching these shows (especially with Rick) because it makes me think of home out east.

Rick, once again you have presented a facet of Canadian life that few see and even fewer appreciate. All while poking a little fun at yourself. Great job.

Newfoundland is the most amazing place on earth . My partner just returned from Cambodia , Vietnam & Bali & stated that , although awesome ; no place she has ever been , can knock Newfoundland off the top spot . Mistaken Point , caribou , whales , icebergs , moose & the most incredible people you will ever meet anywhere on the planet !

This is so beautiful Rick. You would want to go into sheep farming. My preparation for sheep farming brought me here from the Morrys' page and this was a burst of motivational energy for me. Thanks for doing this. And thanks to all the farms, family and friends involved, not to forget the Chef Jeremy Charles. Cheers.

My son-in-law is from Ferryland, the scenery there is astounding and breathtaking. Having a picnic up by the lighthouse and watching the whales frolic in the ocean is priceless! If you were lucky enough to see pictures of an enormous iceberg last spring, they were taken in this very area! The lighthouse features the picnics, with lemonade and sandwiches made from their homemade bread, baked right in the lighthouse! It's a slice of heaven, right here!

I can't believe this is the last season of RMR. I watch the video and it makes me happy - Rick just comes across as such a good person - and then I remember that it is ending and I get sad again.

Great video! I re-watched this after buying some land in the area. It confirms our decision to live in this beautiful part of Canada. I miss the Rick Mercer Report, especially during these trying COVID days. I need a good shot of humour to help me through. Please Rick, do a new comedy series, a CBC special, release a song 🙂...anything. Thanks.

Fun fact: there's ruins and old cannons and such from an old british naval fort on the island too.

Sheep. So innocent, so docile. Only to end their days with a bolt gun to their heads and throats slit. For what? Nothing we actually need. Nothing but the pleasure of their dead body. Since we absolutely can live happy, healthy lives without harming others.....why wouldn't we? Peace.

Does the phrase"Rack of Lamb" rings any bells? 9 chances out of ten, you own something made out of sheep's wool! Would you rather they be skinned alive?

I know how to read labels and use this skill when I buy clothing etc. Since in this modern world we live in there are alternatives to wool and we don't need to eat animals or their products I will repeat, we can absolutely live happy, healthy lives without harming others....why wouldn't we?
