The fact that you have had the same set-up in your kitchen for twenty five years means you got it right on day one. Very impressive, and I look forward to adding some of your choices to my kitchen. Thanks, Rick.

That would be a dream kitchen for me. Love that multiple people can work in there without bumping into one another. Soap stone is the best kitchen surface and the 48" stove with both gas and electric is great for bakers and regular cooking. The maple wood does give a comfortable feel. I think I will steal your multiple pull-out cutting board idea and island with cutting surface top. Thanks for sharing your kitchen.

I first saw this kitchen on This Old House! Didn't think anything of it, other than admiring its beauty. Then I watched a Jacques Pépin series episode featuring Rick Bayless as well as some of his YT videos and was like, 'Where do I know this guy/kitchen from???' Been cooking out of Rick's books and videos ever since. So good! Thanks Rick!

I’ve watched you for so many years on PBS that this kitchen feels like I belong here. I especially enjoyed the episodes cooking with your daughter. I agree with the work triangle. Too many kitchens in new homes… or remodels… are so poorly arranged & inefficient. Yours is perfect for you.

Just lovely... and perfectly functional. But most importantly, so welcoming and warm. Thank you so much for sharing! You're probably the only white man in the whole world whom I will listen to intently on how to make green chile chicken tamales... I grew up making tamales with my grandma and I've never, EVER, tasted any tamales as delicious and perfectly most and firm at the same time as her tamales... with the simplest of ingredients. But, I know your recipe will be wonderful and I look forward to making it. Such was my experience with your green chicken enchiladas and your recipe did not disappoint. So happy to have finally landed on your KZfaq channel. Many blessings to you.

It's a quick video but it's long enough that you can zero in on the name of appliance and every kitchen tool Rick uses. It's an incredible kitchen. Not fancy. Just a damn good workhorse type of kitchen. The best kind. Doesn't Rick seem like a great, down to earth guy? He's like a soft warm tortilla in the midst of ego driven celebrity chefs. Just love the guy. Rick, may I please come over for dinner?

5 years ago we completely demolished and remodeled the kitchen in our 100 year old house which was last updated in the 1960s. No white kitchen for me! We too went with natural wood cabinets and our cooktop is center stage on our 5x8 island. So warm and inviting. Thanks for the tour, Chef. Jane

Rick, thanks for sharing. I really love your videos and have learned so much from you about Mexican cooking. I like that you explain your techniques and offer advice in a simple, understandable method. You also do a great job talking about the history and background of certain dishes and I think this really gives your dishes a lot of charm. You educate us too on ingredients and I've learned a lot from you about different peppers, cheeses etc. Very cool to see more of your kitchen and you explain how you have it set up to your tastes. What a gorgeous (and functional) kitchen! I’m blown away by how “new” it looks, and yet you’ve had it for 25 years , and even say that you love to entertain too! I can imagine the hundreds/thousands of meals cooked with love in that kitchen. I’ve seen kitchens not even half as old but not maintained or worse, neglected, or designer kitchens that look brand new because the owner never cooks in them 😢 (some people would even admit this in their celebrity house tours). Thank you for inspiring us with your beautiful kitchen. ❤️
