Props to Arsenio Hall for being the only talk show host in the early 90s to have wrestlers (other than Hulk Hogan) on their show.

One of the absolute underrated wrestlers of all time. This guy was very good.

Rude and Perfect were both denied the WWF world title. Hogan's title reign in that era was entirely too long.

@@pauldaniel6208, Hogan should have been pinned more often. The same goes for Warrior.

Whoever said he was underrated? Never heard that one in my lifetime. The only thing I’ve ever heard of Rick rude and watched myself was he’s one of the greats the end.

Rude was a super-heel, he connected with the audience was a real life tough guy & a former arm-wrestling world champion he deserved to beat ultimate warrior for the championship (even just for a caretaker reign). He along with Brian Pillman are the greatest losses of the Attitude era, if he were to enter WWE now instead of 1987 he would be a headliner & world champion for sure. RIP Richard Rood!

An absolute travesty that Rude never won the WWE strap. One of the best workers of the era, and could work a crowd on the mic.
@EnforcerX7110 жыл бұрын
I know he's probably more well known for his WWF run, but personally I think Rude was used best in WCW, where he was given a lengthy run with the US Title as well as holding the Big Gold Belt (it was called the WCW "International" Title as they had two World Championship at the time, Vader probably had the longest reign with the other WCW Title, the one they used when Flair took the Big Gold Belt to the WWF) for a while.

No doubt! I have an aunt who dated Butch Reed once upon a time. I was like 7 at the time and I used to get to sneak backstage. Saw Sting, Ric Flair, Lex Luger, and I swear whenever fans came around they went right back into character. Or if you were at the airport or something, you never saw heels and faces mingling.

i remember this episode...classic!! this was when wrestling was good, before it got commercialized. wrestler's now show their human side, thus further confirming that wrestling is fake. back then, the wrestler's were in character whenever the camera was on, didn't matter where, that's what made it somewhat believable.
