Yeah! I was listening to it live in my bedroom at the time. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Never buzzed off a piece of music as much as that moment!

@@Compress2Impress Chances are that that tape is still up in my loft...

@@ManWalksDogs I imported it from tape to my pc and tweaked the eq to try to get the best out of it but there's only so much you can do with tape quality lol

@@Compress2Impress I don't even have any reliable/working tape decks to play them hooked up to the laptop these days. Last time I bothered, years back, it was a nightmare with eq'ing, as you say, and after much fiddling still came out a distorted mess that I was really dissatisfied with. Put me off working through them which was always my intention with digitisation of audio cassettes & video tapes. Ah well, they were fun to use at the time and we must've had lower standards!

I figured out the midi years ago but never saved it. It's easy enough to work out especially from the slow tempo start on the live track

That is some seriously cool info, thanks Gene. They are technically separate tracks, but as everyone knows they are often played live as one piece. I guess the only guys who can answer that are the maestros themselves.
