Man, some of you leaving comments need to relax!!! For one, this was not meant as a Yes tribute band or replacement! It's Rick's show, his band and singer, doing a fun Yes song which features a killer Moog solo!!! Why must you be so negative?!?! Just accept it for what it is and try not to hate so much. You will feel better! :-)
@john4891007 жыл бұрын
if people dislike the singer,just enjoy the music.....IT IS NOT YES,it's rick and his chosen musicians

The singer is very good! And the band is incredible! Some of the people who didn't like this are probably groupies of the actual (very bad) tribute band runned by Steve Howe. This is pathetic. Rick show is largely more interesting. I love this video and Rick is the only YES keyboard for me alongside Patrick Moraz (and Tony Kaye of course who was more a backup guy).

Impresionante que Ashley Holt conserve esa calidad de voz. Rick increíblemente lúcido y hábil. Un Maestro.

Of course this is not YES, nor is it supposed to be, but it IS WAKEMAN in FINE form, some of the best Mini-Moog solos I've heard from him (and I've heard a lot :) )

RW is perhaps the greatest rock keyboard artist, and I love his conceptual albums, but he invariably picks male vocalists who can't sing for sour apple spit!
@wandamundy17593 жыл бұрын
I agree. I don't like Holt at all. He bellows, and is always on the verge of being off-pitch - because the melody is just a tetch out of his range. Also no over- or under-tones, harmonics or resonance . . . he just yells. Loved Damian Wilson in "Out There," though. Now HE can SING !!
@Mcglocklingirls2 жыл бұрын
Yes, just awful singing but just makes ol' Rick's playing sound that much better ;)

Another agreement here. He used to work with man with the most beautiful voice ever... Sometimes I think Holt must have helped Rick bury a body or something.

@2:34 that jam is awesome. It followed the theme of the music while taking a parallel path in it’s own melody. Yes never did anything like that in concert.

Love the way the basist kept sneaking in Heart of the Sunrise , clever that , not into the Slap Funk Bass bit though , even though very clever , just wasnt expecting it , rare Rick gets another keyboard player in to help out , can see why though , the young kid doing the sampled Mellotron 4 voice choir part so Rick could concentrate on a Minimoog fest of leading

Just stumbled onto this whilst trawling all the amazing versions of Starship Trooper - WAKEMAN is as awesome as ever and his accompanying musicians all put in a great effort ... but this singer Holt ?.. he sounds like this old 'tone deaf' bloke I once worked with back in the 80's ...who would shout out rock songs (along to the radio) in an crude operatic voice whilst welding... it sounds exactly like him, I swear... fkn haunts me !... Well , anyways, he's dead now thk fk. Stop it Ricky !

As usual, Rick Wakeman, playing more (much) than nesecesary notes. Notes, notes and more notes. Nothing Colour. When the dust is settle down, Tony Kaye, (who is a rock musician) was more effective than the 30000000 notes throwing by Rick Wakeman. As Fairport Convention would say, " time will show the wiser".
