In this second segment of the three-part interview, Rickards and Schiff discuss the consequences of the Federal Reserve paying for the nation’s expenses, or as Schiff called it, “free money.”

I've always liked Peter Schiff and I've always had the highest regard for his dad who died in prison *just for challenging the legality of* income taxes. Peter is even kind of a nice looking man, but today for some reason, when he's not talking, I get the sense that he wants to kick the neighbor's dog through a hedge or something. I really appreciate these guys a lot, and Mike Maloney as well. They wear the same feathers I've been wearing for at least 20 years. Best regards to all and have a great weekend.

There is no more classical economics that train left a long time ago. What has been taught is neoclassical economics and they didn't learn how the economy actually works as they never take into account debit and credit. Reaganomics is neoclassical economics and is the reason why debt and credit continue to rise. Most of these economists didn't see the 2007 collapse coming because they were never trained to understand how it happened. The one who did was Stever Kein and his book Debunking Economics. If you read that you'll see how ridiculous Peter Shiff is and the others who touted low taxes and less regulation. Keen created a calculous to actually foresee an economic collapse. Economics isn't a science and was actually in the Social science department of the University system but Steve put mathematics into it which previously was just speculation by thinkers who worked around the margins.

In 1977, I asked my dad to explain why printing money to infinity was a bad idea to get the country out of its financial mess then. I WAS 9!! If a 9 year old could understand these concepts in a half hour lecture, what the hell is the Fed's excuse? Oh wait...they do know and have figured a way to leverage it to their benefit. And THEY WILL benefit, make no mistake about it.

MMT is working in the US. Inflation has moved into stocks and precious metals. It shucks not to be able to buy Amazon stock at over $3k per share, but as long as I can buy my milk at under $4, I'm find with equities and gold/silver being as high as they are. If MMT is 100% implemented, I wouldn't be surprise if we don't see any hyper inflation in our lifetime here in the US. The US uniquely qualified to make MMT work.

Interesting listening to J.R. and P.S. I have taken Jim's advise and listened to many of his interviews, along with a couple other KZfaqrs - Mike Malone and Rich Dad. Here is my opinion and this is largely due to J.R.'s comments about how gold's price can be "determined". There is no doubt that all the central banks are working towards a "gold standard" and also digital currencies. What is interesting is how in the past the U.S. government had made it illegal to own gold and promptly turned around and announced a new price/ounce. With the current push towards a digital currency, there is talk of using a digital token to represent a new gold backed currency...and no Peter it will not be BTC (too many reasons why to explain here). In an interview with Judy Shelton she had indicated that going to a gold standard did not necessarily mean "gold" but possibly a "digital standard". Like it or not - there is one crypto that is constantly meeting with central banks and the IMF and that is the one cannot be named! It will become the "world currency" that will allow all other currencies to be able to transact with each other and not to be used as a "weapon". So if there is a plan to introduce this new world currency and have it backed by gold - how would you do it without creating and wiping out the debt of all the countries? First you create the "CBDC" , then you take advantage of a "crisis", print tons of money, then you take the designated crypto that is to be the world currency and have the CBs agree to a certain value, allowing the various governments to hold it and use it to wipe out their debt, there by not creating the expected great depression. There will be some pain but not to the point that there will be civil unrest. The great thing about this one world currency being digital is that it already has a finite number of tokens created and no more can be added to the existing number. This will prevent the current situation we have with fiat from happening again. Unfortunately man being man.......will probably find a way to screw that up again. Keep us informed Jim!

i have a theory that there actually is inflation. if the cost of the product doesn't go up but you attach additional fees in many other ways then the overall price that you pay for things is higher without the price tag actually going up, so when all of this gets rolled up and reported then it simply appears there hasn't been much inflation but a lot more money has actually exchanged hands than the reports reflect
