I like MW. Slightly weird because I done usually like those kind of characters but I like him because he’s smart and his work ethic and discipline is unreal. Ricky used to weight yo-yo in between fight drink and alcohol. I don’t think Ricky hates MW like the title suggests. The fight made him. If you’re humble you’re humble great but humble guys need to accept that not everyone is like then nor should they be all that matters is results and also do you really think Floyd has never helped anyone in the community? He has a world famous gym, and Ricky started his gym after that. Ricky is a simple guy and a warriors but Floyd career and business decisions have made it possible for so maybe to get a fair share the money generated from their fights and also the fact that they can manage themselves if they are sharp enough. Biggest thing MW realised is that he figured early on that if he played the bad guy role and absorbed the hate the people that maybe want to see him loose, outweigh the people that want him to win (I always liked to see him fight I think he’s a boxing genius) but he makes money either way. No such thing as bad publicity to sell a fight and he helped Ricky get retirement money for his family.

To be fair to both men, I think they both played their part in selling this fight. Obviously Hatton brought over thousands of his fans and was a popular fighter in Britain. As much as I agree that Mayweather is a dickhead, he was playing a part to a certain point. He was playing the heel and that sells, Hatton was playing the good, relatable guy. A heel vs heel or good guy vs good doesn't sell so well, so here they had the perfect formula. I just wish it was more about the boxing and less about the trash talk though personally.

But he's not an exciting fighter, casual fans want to see knockout artists not someone on their bike, jabbing, moving and countering all the time. I think he's too arrogant to ever consider that the reason his fights sold so well, is people wanted to see him get beat.
