Going to the pub, having a pint playing darts is the difference though, Floyd might be arrogant but he took boxing seriously from the moment he woke up.

I’ve met quite a few boxers and I asked them to sign the same glove for me. The only one that refused an autograph (at a meet and greet, not in public) was Ricky Hatton. Refused to sign anything but his own merchandise. Right working class hero 😂

Hatton's not in the wrong there, your looking at it wrong. His had millions of interaction's with the public and his had all the time in the world for them, I've met him and he was great. An event like that they are their to sell there merchandise. If they didn't sign your glove I guarantee you didn't buy anything? If you had I'm sure they would have signed the glove for as well.

Floyd understands that this is a show as well as a career.. People have to have a reason in order to be engaged to watch his fights.. I like MW. Slightly weird because I done usually like those kind of characters but I like him because he’s smart and his work ethic and discipline is unreal. Ricky used to weight yo-yo in between fight drink and alcohol. I don’t think Ricky hates MW like the title suggests. The fight made him. If you’re humble you’re humble great but humble guys need to accept that not everyone is like then nor should they be all that matters is results and also do you really think Floyd has never helped anyone in the community? He has a world famous gym, and Ricky started his gym after that. Ricky is a simple guy and a warriors but Floyd career and business decisions have made it possible for so maybe to get a fair share the money generated from their fights and also the fact that they can manage themselves if they are sharp enough. Biggest thing MW realised is that he figured early on that if he played the bad guy role and absorbed the hate the people that maybe want to see him loose, outweigh the people that want him to win (I always liked to see him fight I think he’s a boxing genius) but he makes money either way. No such thing as bad publicity to sell a fight and he helped Ricky get retirement money for his family.

To be fair to both men, I think they both played their part in selling this fight. Obviously Hatton brought over thousands of his fans and was a popular fighter in Britain. As much as I agree that Mayweather is a dickhead, he was playing a part to a certain point. He was playing the heel and that sells, Hatton was playing the good, relatable guy. A heel vs heel or good guy vs good doesn't sell so well, so here they had the perfect formula. I just wish it was more about the boxing and less about the trash talk though personally.

Floyd was so boring he needed a gimmick and being an a$$hole came natural to him.

Hatton has never got over the beating Floyd gave him. Floyd gave hatton nothing but respect after the fight, all hatton has done is diss him. Not a good look. He's actually just another Floyd victim. No rivalry.

This dude was never that good. Firstly, he should have lost that fight against Luis Collazo but they robbed Collazo to set up the fight with Mayweather. In fact, Hatton was so terrible in the Collazo fight, that they had to give him 2 easy fights to make him look good and generate interest, before he fought Floyd.

I think Floyd Mayweather has got the reasons for his financial success all twisted. Yes, he's a masterful boxer and will go down as one of the pound for pound greats. But he's not an exciting fighter, casual fans want to see knockout artists not someone on their bike, jabbing, moving and countering all the time. I think he's too arrogant to ever consider that the reason his fights sold so well, is people wanted to see him get beat. They were hoping that the next guy in line will be the one to finally beat him. His arrogance made him unpopular, so people wanted to see him get smashed.

No. Boxing is being the best at hitting and not getting hit. Floyd Mayweather was an artist at it. We purchased his PPVs to watch a master at work.

@liquidgeorge absolutely. But youre talking about your beliefs and your experiences. I'm talking about what most casual fans like to see.

Mayweather is the smartest professional athlete of all time, he reached billionaire status as a non sponsored professional fighter. There will never be another fighter like Mayweather, he's the most polarized, most hated athlete of all time and he did it his way and ended his professional career undefeated and with all his faculties and all of his money so get over it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ricky's was an unbelievable fighter but unfortunately you've got to live the life when you get to the very top of boxing. You can't go out on benders and have 20 pints of Guinness and eat Chinese takeaways in between fights. If he had lived the life I think he would have been the greatest.
