Wow, I feel like this episode was such an important one! This edit made me really emotional (I love the song I picked, it kinda reflects their dynamic this season), and I think some of the scenes we've seen on this one are super crucial for the rest of the storyline. So many parallels and metaphors! What I wanted to show in this edit is that Nini really is Ricky's rock and that she's always there for him no matter what. She even stepped out of the spotlight and left a school for him. Ricky totally relies on her (maybe too much?), and that could cause their relationship to suffer because if one feels like he has to take care of the other all the time, it can get pretty tiring. Plus, I feel like they're really not letting the Gina thing go and that makes me super doubtful about the rest of the season. I'd love to discuss this in the comments, if you guys are up for it so don't hesitate!

I have a few things I need to say: 1. Ricky is acting clingy and weird because he is scared he will lose Nini like he lost his Mom, but he needs to realise that and tell her. 2. A lot of people are convinced they will break up, but here's why I'm confident they won't: Reason 1: All the build-up and the journey they went on in s1 and Ricky's amazing speech would be for nothing. 2. If you look at the episode descriptions in episode 8 it says Ricky and Nini visit an old haunt, meaning they went together which they most likely wouldn't do after a breakup. 3. In episode 10 I think it is Nini finds out about Gina's secret ( probably that she likes Ricky ) which means they are probably still together because otherwise I'm not sure it would be important enough to put in an episode description. Episode 12 is titled second chances which I don't like after the flashback, but they released the descriptions now probably so people would realise that and assume Rina will get together, but if they were to get together I don't think we would get a hint this big this early. 2x12 has a very interesting description but I think after s1 there is no way the writers could break up a couple this perfect. I love Rini so much and I pray that they are endgame

the episode showed how lonely ricky feels and he has no one to talk to about his feelings. there's only nini; but even she is slipping away and from their phone call it's like he now hesitates to tell her what's on his mind because he doesn't want to be a burden. while nini is bothered by how reliant he is on her but she doesn't want to say it. both wants to avoid an argument but really they need to talk it out. i just hope they don't break up because of this growing issue lmao, cause it's not that big of a problem to break up over. they just need to talk XD

YAS! My thoughts exactly. They should talk it out. It's better to get things off your chest, otherwise the confusion/anger starts growing and then you hit the point of no return

I agree they really need to talk about things. i think the clingy controllingness is almost pushing nini away. he has big red and even Gina as well to talk to but especially Gina. like on a friend level(forgot romantically) i think they actually really get one other when it comes to those type of talks. but bc he’s been very unself-aware and very insensitive of the things he’s been saying and Gina and even Nini doesn’t want to be around him. i think the paranoia is kinda getting to him really badly. it’s kinda sad to watch.

Literally all of their problems are caused by Ricky's mamma issues. He really needs to learn to communicate, it seems like he had but I guess things take time, but he better figure it out before Nini dumps him this time. Because him acting funny and once she learns of Gina's crush she could misinterpret things...

I completely agree with everything you said here and in your previous comment. He should really learn to communicate. Miss Jenn seemed like the right person to confide in but he kinda pushed her away, treating her like an enemy while she was very caring

I'm sorry about your parents, it must have been hard.. I get his reaction, I think he kinda realized he went too far when she said theater was supposed to be a safe place and she could see he wasn't feeling safe. She's such a great mentor for these kids, I hope Ricky realizes that she never wanted to hurt him or make him feel weird

It would be cool to see her actually be Ricky's stepmom but it would be really weird at the same time. Sometimes I think its a bit odd she pursued him after finding out he's Ricky's dad but she didnt meet him thro school reasons so it doesnt bug me. I mean they have a cute connection and I guess she doesnt feel that often so i dont rly blame her.

Carlos is about to start so much drama after recording Nini seeing her song especially since she said, “don’t tell Ricky” In the end, I hope they don’t break up. The build up between them was so perfect & I hope they don’t have to end it just like that.

True but also we're forgetting he's a teen and teens sometimes act really immature? He doesn't know how to deal with this whole situation and it shows. I would love to see him open up about his feelings. He's probably always thought his parents were the perfect couple and now his world is falling apart, so he's trying in a very clumsy way to keep Nini close to him at all times

idk to me it feels like the show is really trying to force a break or trouble between the couple to make other fans happy (non rini fans) and add drama nc i know shows need that to keep the audience interested. but it doesn't feel natural when you think that they have known eachother since kids so they are used to hanging out all the time which wouldn't make it such a big deal. but i also see that ricky has been going through so much that makes him different with his bottled up emotions..

His mom leaving him and his dad is still pretty recent so it’s normal that he’s struggling with that. He does vent to Nini about his dad dating Miss Jenn but he needs to talk about the underlying issues like how he’s terrified of losing her, another one he loves, just like he ‘lost’ his mom. That’s why he said “Are him and belle still together” and why he doesn’t want anything to change. To Ricky change is bad because he only had bad experiences with it till now but change can be a good thing and it doesn’t mean that Nini will leave him. I don’t think Nini wants out of the relationship but she wants space to be her own person which is how healthy relationships work. Once Ricky realises this, they can be happy together.

Preach 👍 I think Ricky's struggling, he's looking for support but he doesn't know how to behave. He comes off as cold, mean even but he's just hurt and I think Nini gets that more than anyone. I hope they keep that spark alive

Ricky is to clingy to Nini cuz he scared to loose her cuz since his family to him relationships don't last bit because of this Nini is pushing away because he's suffocating her but Ricky won't tell her why. But I'm with u, Rini needs to be end game. I think Nini will take some space but not breakup, and she will come on stage with Ricky like in HSM2 when Gabriella came back

I honestly am nervous for their relationship because the writers are going for this love triangle thing with Gina and I think rini will break up but hear me out…Ricky and gina try to give it shot but gina realizes it’s not what she expected and realizes that she likes EJ and her and Ricky break up and rini reunite 🥰

Everyone is talking about Ricky's behaviour and how he's suffocating Nini but i just want to point out a few things: Ricky is being like that because his parents divorced and his Mom literally left him. He's being clingy with Nini because he's afraid he's going to lose her and he's afraid she's going to leave him like his Mom did, that's why he's keeping her around him at all times. Tbh, i find it so cute how he's being so clingy, but it doesn't excuse his behaviour and how his clingyness is affecting Nini. Here are the reasons why im confident they won't break up: I don't think they'll break up because the next episode description says they go to a haunt together, why would they go together if they broke up? I don't they'll break up because why would Disney spend all of season 1 with Ricky trying to win Nini back just to break them them up in the middle of season 2? Why build all of that chemistry with them just to ruin it? Also, the next few episodes might be a little intense with Gina and Nina now that Gina likes Ricky. I wonder if Ricky tells Nini about Gina or if Nini overhears someone talking about it? Anyway, those are my reasons why i don't think they'll break up.

Soo.. here we are another week another million thoughts going through the pea-brain of mine. I truly don't know how to take this episode. By myself, I am a pretty doubtful person and who always thinks of all the bad possible things that can happen. But, I've never doubted this show and more specifically them. The main reason of which is because I've never had a reason to and I trust them. Now, the negative bad thoughts are creeping in minute by minute, hence why I haven't re-watched the episode I have gone through ENOUGH tv heartbreaks this year and I don't think I need them to add on to it. My negative brain has an idea of where they could possibly take this especially if you add Gina to the situation, and let's just say it doesn't end well. BUT a tiny small positive side of me is holding on to hope and hopes that Ricky sees his wrongs maybe turn them into a right. I've been watching Disney and Pixar movies all day to distract myself, call me dramatic but hey I am attached. What about you? ❤❤

Leaving his childhood home without any choice, his mom basically abandoning him and finding a new boyfriend, finding out that Nini is leaving at the last minute, His dad and Ms. Jen dating) I don't want him to pretend to happy or change his attitude because of all this I want him to be open and get these things out in the open.

I love reading your thoughts! 🤍 I totally feel you, I hope they don't mess this relationship up because they have the potential to be endgame. I hope they stay real and honest with each other. I hate that they're turning Gina into a girl who's just craving the attention of a guy who doesn't love her. Her and EJ could lift each other up and I think it'd be a nice way to develop EJ's character a bit more

they are really cute and i can see why people ship them hard, but to me it's like somethings missing. like even when they were fighting back in season one it felt more real. i know for a fact that they would definitely be soulmates, but i only really see them having a platonic one. like they need each other and know they'll always have each other but not necessarily in that way. and that's probably because of how Disney just portrayed them, they could of done a way better job if they weren't so focused on the "let's win nini back" and actually showed us more of the relationship instead. it almost seems like they're in a fairytale relationship which shouldn't be the case especially here between two best friends because they make it seem like it would be the end of the world if they weren't dating like their middle schoolers or something. like chill man. take a minute to breathe, its ok to have separate lives too yall.

Oh, this is such an interesting topic to discuss. I'd say I partly agree, like, I don't agree 100% but let's say 50 haha I also feel like they haven't shown enough moments of pure complicity and just them being soulmates in a romantic way in season one. They've had a bit more of those in season two so far, but I definitely get your point. I totally agree on the fairytale part though, but that's Disney, right? 😅 They're a lot like Troyella in that sense. It's hard to get a glimpse of real life in a Disney show, although I think they're doing an okay job with this one

But seriously, you nail it every time! This one was especially good, as I really enjoyed the sequence of the scenes and voiceovers you chose. Always love your edits! This one in particular got to me. I think they’re either gonna come out of this stronger, or break up at the end of the season. The optimist in me thinks they’re really gonna work through their problems this time. It feels like the right way to go, you know? They both have such strong personalities and are going through major life changes right now. I hope they find a way to grow as people together.

I think they will because if they don’t and Nini leaves him, Ricky would have been right about her leaving him just like his mom did and change would mean bad things happening. I hope he opens up because Nini would understand and they’d go through this together. I’d love to see her support him when he’s meeting up with his mom and maybe Todd later this season.

i just thought of something that i think really says something. okay so you know how in season 1 Ricky constantly tries to kiss Nini until the big kiss happens and then season 2 they kiss all the time. okay while for the Ricky and Gina shippers.. how many times has he tried to kiss her. i mean you can clearly see how in love he is with Nini he constantly wants to hug and kiss her while i have never seen that with him and Gina. even in the new scene he wasn't instigating the hug like he always would with Nini. anyway that's my point and i think it says a ton!!

True, but he still has a lot to learn. I think expressing his feelings is very hard for him, and theater helped a bit last season but he's still holding on to being as "tough" as he can (because he's a boy and boys have to be tough and all that, I think there's a lot of that in his behaviour). Now he's better at showing Nini he loves her but apart from that he's still learning, he's suffocating her because she's the only person he feels safe around. It's kinda messed up, but that's my analysis haha
