It's the way he goes all into it It's not just a kinda rough looking tackle where he mostly lands on his knees and barely leaves his feet, he throws his whole body into the air, and throws his arms back until the moment of impact, it looks so powerful when he finally makes contact

Ever since Starks first appeared to challenge Cody for the TNT belt... he's been absolutely great. And he's got an instantly memorable soundtrack so kudos to the guy who composes these things. It is 100% pro wrestling.

I loved this! Aew showing baby faces aren't stupid or goody 2 shoes; Ricky had every right to hit them with the chair, regardless of getting DQ. They messed with him since the beginning, so it makes sense he played their game. If they're willing to play dirty, why shouldn't he? This match was excellent, Jay and Ricky have so much chemistry! Can't wait for round 2!

Ricky’s one of the only wrestlers I’ve ever seen sell to the camera as much as the live crowd. He’s very underrated imo but I’m sure they’ll put the title on him one day

Starks isn’t quite there imo. He’s very hit or miss. He really needs to drop the “rock” thing and find his own persona. That’s where he loses me. He does good when he’s just him.

AEW has about 20+ guys who can seriously be the champ at any given time. then you throw in the mix guys like Juice and White... who are also elite wrestlers in their own former companies. It's a staggeringly stacked roster.

Switchblade Jay White/Ricky Starks is my favorite rivalry in AEW right now, and I love that Ricky disqualified himself when he felt Juice Robinson's constant interference was becoming a huge problem.

The logical booking choice is a stip meant to keep it one on one, so anything from a cage to banned at ringside. The other way to go is having White goad Starks into a match he knows he shouldn't take, like a no DQ or something else that allows the 2 on 1. I'd guess they go for the former, since they've be portraying Starks as not an idiot.
