We begin this episode by going over all the materials we’ll be using to customize a bulk order of youth caps, including our EM-1010, TC-1501 and MT-1501 single-head embroidery machines. Then, we’ll show you how to properly hoop all nine caps and attach them to the embroidery machines.
After that, we’ll move on to the 3D puff embroidery portion of the project. We’ll take you through the entire process step-by-step, from attaching the 3D puff foam to the caps and tracing our designs to adjusting the tension on our embroidery machines and using a heat gun to remove any remaining foam.
Once the 3D puff embroidery is complete on all nine caps, we’ll demonstrate how we set up our heat transfer vinyl designs in the SignMaster CUT+ARMS software that comes with our RCP-6301 25” vinyl cutter, as well as how to scale the designs so that they fit onto the backs of our caps. From there, we’ll load our vinyl into the machine and show you how to set the correct cutting force and speed.
After the excess vinyl is weeded and ready to go, we introduce our Ricoma Auto Open Cap Heat Press and share some tips to help ensure your heat transfer comes out perfectly. Finally, we’ll discuss what kind of profit you stand to make from a project like this and display our finished products.
