Ricomax METAL DETECTOR Review - an option for beginners

I was sent the Ricomax Metal Detector to do a review on it. This is a beginner’s metal detector. It is not made for a seasoned detectorist. For my full review, check out the video.

I think you should test it in the grass. Concrete has rebar in it that will even throw off high end detectors. And put some fresh batteries in. Looked like they were pretty low. Then retest it. Burry a hand full of change in your yard and try again. Have to give it a fair chance😁

There will be more info with this detector in the near future. I’m actually going to take it to the beach Sunday and see how well it does in dry sand. I’ll freshen up the batteries and see how it does.

Got one at $79 on sale for gun brass empties and arrows. Works great and using USB rechargeable Li Ion 9v's makes it affordable to run day after day.

Nice review. The top row of target pics looked like a Whites Coinmaster.

That is my first and only detector so far. It is a cheap price. It was all I could afford though. Still beeps. So you have to dig it all.

I agree. You have to dig all repeatable signals with it.

In my honest opinion I believe there are better detectors out there for around the same price. Aka- Ace 150, 200. Even the kids detector made by Nokta performs better.

This is the detector my dad got for me. I want to know how to use it as i lost the manual a while ago. It constantly beeps all kinds of different noises and i have no idea what im doing lol

Uh oh. Since this video was released, I have found a couple better options for the price range this metal detector is in. If you turn down the sensitivity it will help with the uncontrollable beeping. But you will lose depth. If you enjoy the hobby, and you want to upgrade, let me know. I can point you in the right direction on a great upgrade option.

I know some of the non beginners machines when the battery is low it doesn’t work all that good. I would put 2 new batteries in and see what happens then. Also you get what you pay for.

Truth. I am currently at the beach and am going to give it another swing down here in the dry sand. We will see how it acts in this saltiness.

Would battier power effect the detector on depth and other things too..? You had one bar left and to me I would think once a battery drops past half way it will effect the performance on a handful of electronics.. just my thought..Those shovels are so cool.. I got one from another detector I bought and Will use it at some point..

It probably would effect the performance. I’ll be doing another couple videos on it in the next couple weeks. My daughter is gonna use it at the beach this coming week.

Well, I guess it will be a decent beginner's machine...if it's repeatable, dig it. Personally I like the Simplex for a first machine, but maybe that's because it was my first!❤️

I agree with you there. I love the Simplex. My daughter is going to use this one on the beach next week.

You found some used batteries... batteries level is wayyyyyy low. It seems like if somebody gives you something for free a you could at least buy some new batteries bat..
