Sería muy interesante una traducción al idioma Inglés de esta entrevista. Al menos un resumen, es una historia muy interesante, el fue adoptado, nació en Colombia y creció en Suecia.

The youtube "cc" translation to english is worse than nothing. Is there an english transcript of this conversation, or some other summary of the conversation posted somewhere online? His personal story, and the plight of the Saami on environmental issues and displacement, have become a matter of interest for those who discovered them through the popularity/visibility of his jojk.

Not sure if the question was answered, however an attempt to translate the conversation: (It is a bit difficult to translate everything due to the dialect of the presenter, so missing words are marked with (...), however it does not change the meaning or exclude "important" details as such) I: Interrogator Jon: Jon Henrik I: Jon Henrik, tell me, how was it to perform at Riddu Riddu (...)? Jon: It was really fun and nice to do that.. to stand on this stage. I: Was it any different from other places you have been at? Jon: Yeah, it is a bit of a difference but... you (feel) a bit safer when there is a lot of samis that's watching... in that way it felt very good... then it is different too.. I: You were on a journey on swedish Talang (Swedish Talent show), can you tell a bit about that journey from where it started, what happened on that journey to where you are now? Jon: Yeah, what really happened was that my best friend Daniel died, and so... he was very much (fond of) my music, he listened a lot to my music.. it made him kind of keep going with his life, just like I did... Then he died and it (felt) empty and.. after his death, that was when I participated in Talang and... now I'm here today... it's fantastic.. But I think it is thanks to him that I am here.. I: (...) what was your expectations of Talang, the things that actually happened there? Jon: Expectations... I don't know... I have always had such little belief in myself in my life.. during my entire life, more or less.. so I never have any high expectations.. I guess I thought "this will fail!" I: But it didn't! Jon: Nah, it didn't.. I: You won the entire Talang. Jon: Yeah.. After the first program I participated in I was just thinking "Nah, now I want to quit this.. do I dare to do this, can I do this?".. but it just continued.. I guess I had to.. I: (No idea what she says at 2:39) Jon: I don't know.. perhaps it is because I give so much of myself in the music.. I: Jon Henrik, you are one of very few that has managed to make the joik really popular! And that quickly.. Do you have any thoughts around that? Jon: Nah, I don't know.. I might easily affect (other people).. I can touch even (those who) are hard as rock, and break through (that).. And then I am referring to this kind of.. there are people who have built up these kind of walls around them and say that they do not get affected by stuff.. that they do not feel anything.. and think that joik sounds terrible, for example.. But I think I managed to break that.. That's also I think because in my joik.. in particular the one that I joiked for Daniel, it is about my growing up too.. how I feel as a human.. and then I think that since the joik is so magic and can get so deep into a human, it does not really matter if it is a sami or a swedish person that hears it.. it doesn't matter I think, it went into the swedish hearts and they felt "He's touching my heart.."... uh, how odd that feels but.. What really feels strange is that they've probable gone through the same things, that I have gone through.. I: Maybe it was someone who kind of recognized your vulnerability.. Jon: Yeah... because everyone has sorrows.. there's probably nobody that doesn't.. I: Jon Henrik, how's the journey from now onwards (...)? Jon: Now I'm going to keep going with this new album.. (...) so that is what I am working with now.. hoping that it will be done.. it will be a bit different from the previous one.. I: (She probably says "When is it done" OR "how do you know when it is done")? Jon: Yeah, I don't know.. when I feel that "Now I've done it.. now it is good".. I: (...) How is your love life? Jon: Yeah.. there is a lot of love out there.. I: Have you found love? Jon: I'm (trying to gauge the feeling), and seeing if it feels right or not, so.. I guess I can't say more than that.. we'll see.. I: Thank you Jon Henrik, and best wishes on your journey.. and I'm looking forward to hearing your album when it's released! Jon: Yup..

JiGe96 Thank you so much!!!! Your translation was really informative, especially the long answer he gave about the emotions his joik brought out in others.

+JiGe96 Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am half Finnish, so joiking is a part of my heritage (have some Sami in there too), and I just love this guy! What a heart. May he never change in that way - "let the world see your smile, but don't let it change your smile" I think is how he puts it. So hold on and keep on inspiring us! :) :)
