​@@giordiserafini_ I'm pretty sure it's because you can't have the same VX look when you film in HD. RadRat explained it in a video, something called "Why Skaters Still Use The VX" or something like that. Basically, SD like the VX is filmed in 4:3 which is practically a square. HD is filmed in 16:9 which as we all know is rectangular. The fisheye effect is dispersed more when filmed in a rectangle I think? Pretty much the square aspect ratio allows us to use more of the fisheye lens than we get to use in 16:9

@@EddieGannon04 Yes, a fisheye is a circle, and a circle is closer in size to a square (SD) than a rectangle (HD). When you film fisheye in HD, you're essentially cutting off the top and bottom of the fisheye image, which makes it so if you don't want to cut off the skater's head, you have to be further back with the camera.

@@EddieGannon04 HD 4:3 is totally possible, just not common.

Shoot the same as you do with a digital, don't use an F. less than f/9, this keep's a mid-ground of focus that is pretty sharp. Only go less than f/9 if there is hardly any light. Stick at shutter speed 1/250 if possible. 1/200 if your using lights. The main difference is that there is a set ISO. The best way to test your lighting. Set up your digital the same as your film camera. E.g. f/9, 1/250, and the same ISO as the film you're using. If it's too dark, drop the f. or shutter speed a little, but never change the ISO on the digital camera. Once you have the right exposure on the digital camera, use these settings on your film camera. Hope this helped.

Dylan Logsdon You know your film camera. If I may add, if the fstop is going to drop bellow say 5.6 and the shutterspead is less than 60, use a tripod to prevent shaking. Even if you think you can stop shaking, the camera will most likely pick it up. Cool to see people who are still into film photography:) Oh, and one tip that always helped me, use a light meter one from the camera and one from a phone app. Once you get a good idea of what fstop and shutter speed is good, shoot one picture with a lower f stop and one with higher depending on the light meter's used. Same thing with shutter speed,one over and one under. Just my two cents!
