Thanks Bobby, I can relate to this advice. Very helpful. Whether I can apply it all is a different matter! As a start, I've downloaded the "Bob's Triads of Fortitude". After a few weeks, I'll be really pleased if I can manage triad 4, bar 22. I'll give it my best shot.. Peter

My favorite warm up is from Michael Davis - 20 minutes warm up for trumpet. This method affects several important parts (sound, tonguing, flexibility, interval). But anyway, thanks this video Bobby!

Can you do a video on how you setup your embouchure, I see so many conflicting things online and I'm honestly a little confused and lost. I know I must be playing incorrectly because after about 10 minutes of playing I have an indent in my lips from the mouthpiece. It hurts and my endurance sucks. I try "hiding the red" as best as possible but can't seem to fit it all in the mouthpiece

I always seem to get an indent in my lips even though I make every effort to use the minimum pressure to create a seal. What’s going on?

Hi! You might find my embouchure video useful: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l7Oki8ygnNCUaWg.html My best recommendation is to start by creating the embouchure before placing the mouthpiece on your face, starting with the position you would use to say the letter "m". Then allow yourself to blow air through the aperture without moving your lips, eventually adding the mouthpiece. While most people should aim to cover the vermillion of the lips with the inside rim of the mouthpiece, there are some people whose lips are shaped in a way that makes this difficult, and that may be ok too. You don't want to feel pain when playing, but a little indent in your lips after playing is normal, and just about every trumpet player develops a little scar tissue on the lips where the mouthpiece goes.
