Hey there Dan👊. I was pretty happy when I stumbled across your channel here tonight! It’s AWESOME to see you creating content that you are knowledgeable and passionate about. Not sure if you know this but I used to frame houses before I joined the Mounties and I still have a passion for woodworking. I don’t have Ridgid tools but I’ve got a mixture of Dewalt and King Canada. My table saw is King Canada. I’ll admit it has a bit of a “cheep” feel to it however, for the price and the amount of use it gets, it has served me well. I’ve definitely subscribed my friend👍. I’ll try and check out some more of your content in the coming days.

@DavidWhitten- long time no chat good buddy 👊. Thanks for checking out my channel! It all started because a friend of mine said I should do a channel to help anyone starting out in carpentry. There’s a lot of channels on expert/experienced carpentry but not a whole lot on beginner or small shops. He Also thought I’d be good at tool reviews. So I decided hey, why not encourage people no matter their skill or tool collection to get out in the shop!! I didn’t know you framed houses before law enforcement, that’s cool!! I always say no matter your tools, no matter the size of your shop. Just get out there and have fun! Thanks for subscribing and watching man, Appreciate it! 😊 Dan.

FYI. This does not have the LSA that Ridgid offers with their power tools. This only carries 5Yrs of warranty.

Thanks Pete for your comment. I have personally registered this tool for the LSA online and Ridgid approved it. There website also says this tool has an LSA in the description for this saw. Here is the online description:RIDGID introduces the 10 -inch Pro Jobsite Table Saw with Stand. This heavy duty saw is equipped with a 5000 RPM motor. It features an updated portable folding stand that provides a single-point release for simple 1-step setup and great jobsite portability. Users can easily complete jobs wit this saw's easy-to-use onboard storage for the miter gauge, etra blades, rip fence, and other accessories. Backed by the Industry's Only Lifetime Service Agreement, this saw includes a 10 -inch blade, a blade guard assembly, a portable folding stand, and an operator's manual. So as you can see it has the LSA. Thanks 😊 Dan.

How does this do with a dado stack?
@ShopTalkWithDanTheMan

From the Manual: MAKING A DADO CUT: An optional dado throat plate is required for this procedure (see the Accessories section of this manual and check with the retailer where the table saw was purchased). All blades and dado sets must not be rated less than the speed of this tool. This saw is designed for use with a 6 in. stack dado (up to width of 3/4 in.). Do not use an adjustable dado on this saw. Rabbeting cuts are dado cuts made on the end of a workpiece. For best results, complete rabbet cuts using a dado stack blade. NOTE: Use an auxiliary fence when making rabbet cuts to prevent the face of the rip frence from making contact with the dado blade stack during the cutting operation. I know with Some Cabinet Style Table saws you can use 8 in and adjustable dados. Must have to do with the motor and weight it can take. Hope this helps. Dan

The fence on this saw is horrible, with a capital H. I have an older version of this saw and fence. The fence never automatically aligns with the cutting blade when the fence is locked down and the adjustments to do just that, requires constant adjustment. I've come to the point where the only way to align the saw is to use a ruler. Another, failing for this saw is the dust collection of the blade and system. The system works by covering the lower half of the blade in an attempt to capture all the dust and then providing an opening for a dust vac. Unfortunately, even with 6 hp a peak there is so many open spaces above the blade that suction is barely felt. Dust eventually is thrown up at the throat plate and into your face. Furthermore, small shavings tend to block the exhaust port which tends to render the vacuum system ineffective.

Well I don’t own the older model of table saw to compare with this current generation of saw. Maybe they made improvements from one generation to the next. Hopefully they did. All that to say if your saw is not doing your day today requirements well, no matter the band, maybe it’s Time to shop for a new saw. Sometimes tools have issues, no tool is perfect. But, I’d say in your case with all the frustration it’s time to consider a different product. I’ve been there before with a tool. At the end of the day it’s about enjoying your shop tools included. Hope my thoughts help for better results. Dan 😊

Too bad the guide does not extend up to 24 inches

Jean, it would be nicer if it went past 24”! I guess worst case scenario you need extra wide cut you can use an extension table on the opposite side and rip the smaller piece by the fence. Or use a straight edge with a circular saw on saw horses. A bit of a work around, but doable. 😊Dan
