@@FilipinaVegana to a lesser extent but yes. Sold my clear mg to keep the Hd6xx because it’s good enough. But the difference is more noticeable than say from the Red to the P8

Yeah bud, but the thing is they're charging for passive drivers that are barely doing anything. Plus, as a reviewer, he(refering to 'Amplify Audio Review') should be informing/educating the viewers about the whole deal with the DZ4, and not just give it a glossy compliment across the board. One has to consider that not everyone is into this "kind" of tuning. So it is the responsibility of the reviewer to give a complete and honest review, otherwise it will be nothing more than just playing shill. Just because this is a subjective hobby, doesn't mean one can just overlook issues. Or say, "well it's fine and dandy according to my ears." By the way, have you seen the issues raised by Michael Bruce and HBB? Those are guys who know a thing or two about audio and audio equipment, specially when it comes to the principles concerning drivers and speakers. These guys aren't slouches. They were both raising legit issues, and were showing exactly what the issue is. They weren't just raising criticisms pulling it out of their asses. And these iem companies don't always know what they're doing. If you've been in this hobby long enough, you should know that. Like for the DZ4, just look at the way the passive radiator is installed. In order for a passive radiator to work properly, it has to be isolated and/or sealed. But this one is neither in any way. So, what is it doing exactly? Amplifying distortion? So, again, begs the question: Did Letshuoer charge people for something that barely functions, if at all? The community has already been through the whole KZ dud driver fiasco. We should've learned from that by now and be more closely scrutinizing of what these marketing savvy companies are selling us. Remember, their priority is to make more profit; and one of the ways to do that is to charge you more for "tech" that they claim to be putting into these iems. We can't just keep swallowing it all, hook, line, and sinker. We've gotta hold these companies accountable for the stuff they're selling us. We can't let them keep fooling us out of our hard earned money. And in this hobby, we should be looking after one another; and we should be looking out for those products that these companies are selling us that aren't doing anything except screw the community over of its hard money.

@@TheRebelLion13 I agree, it's good to give the the whole background and I also think they designed it wrong regarding to how they use the radiator. He should have mentioned the background in this review. Good of you to highlight that! But regarding how it sounds it's probably the passive radiator that gives it the unique sound. Probably by the bad design though, since the PR seems to distort the whole frequency range. But it's the closest feeling to 6XX on OTL I've gotten from an IEM. You can really feel the singers emotions and it draws you into the music. I think it's nice to have a another flavour to choose from, was getting tired of yet another clean 2DD or another ridiculous bass monster or another metallic sounding planar. Regarding bass I did find it a bit lacking with stock tips, but putting chunkier tips on it helped a lot. A tip (no pun lol) for the DZ4 owners out there.

@@Krasche02 Well, there is the minor mod that you can do to the passive radiators. It doesn't involve any soldering, just plugging up the holes to disable the passive radiator. Maybe you can also give that a try, and see how different it sounds compared to stock. I too, was interested with DZ4 when i first came across it, seeing the hardware it claims to have. I already have a 2DD, so i was quite curious as to how a 3DD + Passive Driver will sound, i was thinking maybe the detail is going to be amazing. But after i saw the review and the teardown, i'm like "nah, pass!", i'm not gonna spend my money on something that easily has the likelihood of sounding bad(to me), and then having to do extra work modding it just to make me not feel bad that i made a bad purchase. You see here's what i think: i think Letshuoer immediately went full production with this without making proper consultation with subject-matter experts on passive radiators.(of course, when you bring in experts outside of the company's own r&d team, that's gonna mean additional cost; which would be a problem if you are trying to keep it within a certain price bracket) I believe this is the first time this has been attempted. And when they realized that there was something wrong with it, they just tried working on the tuning, because that would be way cheaper than having to scrap everything that's already been through production. And just like KZ, they were hoping that no one would notice that something was off and do a teardown. Again, one of the things that gave it away was that for something that supposedly has a passive bass driver, it was still sounding rather anaemic(given that it had a passive bass driver); and just like what happened to KZ when their iems were disected and tested, so too, the design and build flaw with the DZ4 was confirmed, when Michael Bruce decided to do a teardown of it.
