So when you are about to stop recording your video and notice some Ridiculously large tires WLTOYS 124017.... Yep, let's see how they change the handling! Trying to put More power WLToys 124017 with a Surpass hobby 120a ESC and a 4s battery. Yes, Trying to run a 4s battery in the 124017! Not much grip and only able to run at 50-60% throttle! When I hit 100% it flips. 😆Wooohooo what fun!!! Do you think this tiny little motor will overheat and blow up?

Hiya mate. Just a cold or flu or something. Just picked up Colin from school and doctor days gastroenteritis which isn't great so the household sickness continues. That's life. 😷😊👍

Another good attempt sir! I remember seeing a video by PERTH WEST OZ RC who used M3 Hex screws to lower his 124019 for speed runs. Lowering the front will probably help you get up to full throttle. Thanks again as always. Get well soon to you and your family!

Make a video showing this upgrade kit are 12mm hex wheels? The esc used is the same as the last video surpass 80A ? I follow Brazil, the subtitles help a lot

Ah thanks for the kind words mate. Yeah we will be fine. Fluids plus plus. Yes I am a very lucky dad. I am not even sure that he is into RC cars 100% but whenever I ask for help, he always jumps up and leaves his computer behind which is fantastic. Yeah I am going to start doing crazy builds as so many channels are copying my videos and style. When I started not one channel was taking WLToys apart. Now they all are. Maybe time to get into crawlers if the rain is bad. Im looking forward to it as I need mud to record the crawlers and in the dry conditions of malta, thats not an easy thing to find. But luckily the rain has come here as well. So when I am better I will be out. Take care of yourself and stay safe! 😊😉

Love your videos. Had to buy the same esc cause of cogging. Was super disappointed with wl toys on this car. I can't even drive it in grass:(

Hiya. Yeah to be honest the video was just a last second recording as I had the wheels with me. I unfortunately have about 25 sets of wheels and finding where I got them is not always easy. I will see if I can find a link for you though.

The motor could just about run 3s. I think it could run 4s but not for long before it melts itself.

The cogging with a new esc removes about 90% of the cogging. So much better but for me the fact you also get the increased listed speed makes it worth while. 😉😊👍

Why does your stock motor not overheating? Mine overheat on just 60a esc. Stock is 2845 4300kv right?

Nice job on the video and love the music. Try foam tires .I think ballooning is making it catch too much air . Just my thoughts.

Considering I'm doing 40MPH on stock on this, 4s should be able to double that plus larger wheels, the theoretical max speed on this is crazy. Very cool :) The weak spot is the shock towers if you flip a couple of times like that the screws from the spoiler through the shocks tower that go into the rear diff will come out :)

I've found the weak point was the front of this car never had any problems with the rear shock tower but at the front is a different story . Ive had a couple of bad crashes and the plastic gearbox housing has broken off the metal shock tower and the large screws/ pins that go through the plastic wishbone have snapped or bent going through the plastic. Damaged two front wishbones and two front diff covers. Also the actual front diff itself, where the dogbone goes in,the metal ( as its so thin ) has sheared so the dogbone just pops out. Out of interest do you have version 1 or 2 ?

Yes for sure. That's why I haven't left a link for these tires. It was about having a little fun with this disaster of a car to be honest. If it breaks something then I'll replace it but the fun I had was worth it. 😊👍

Hiya. OK as you are planning on taking out the electronics anyway then you should buy the WLToys 124019. The 124019 is brushed motor and the 124017 is the new brushless motor with so many problems. So as you are taking out the motor and esc then buy the cheaper 124019 and save a little money. Both come with the same battery anyway. 😉👍

Has changing the esc to a 120a & 4s battery stopped the motor cogging ? it looks like their is no cogging now.

Yes it has stopped the cogging. 120a and 3s it stopped the cogging. I believe that on 80a 2s also stopped buy can't remember 100% as been making a lot of videos lately. But essentially a new esc has helped a lot yes. The higher amps it seems the more speed and less cogging. 😉👍

Yeah I've actually been really impressed with the stock motor. Even with those large wheels and 4s it didn't over heat which it really should have done. At least one part of the electronics is decent. 🙄😉😁😁
