Charley, I borrowed The Long Way Round DVD from a family member and ended up keeping it, I rewatched it that many times I could copy word for word what you and Ewan would both say. I was 9 back in 2004 and I've wanted a motorcycle ever since, I am now 28 and have finally got myself a KLR650 to bomb around on, dirt or road. I live in Tassie and to hear you say that we have the best stretch of road to ride on gave me goosebumps! I would love to shake your hand one day, or maybe see you on the Tassie roads, and say thank you for the inspiration and viewing pleasure you've given me. - Jacob

Good to see couple of biking legends, from different biking backgrounds riding together. The style doesn't matter - it's the two wheels that count! 👍🏻

I stayed in Keswick for a bit back in ‘78 as a teenager. One of many stops in our months long journey through the uk, but very memorable. When I went hiking through Killarney some many years later, there was a definite flashback. All very beautiful. Good vid. 👍🤪🏳️🌈

I still have my 1974 Ducati 750 Sport I bought when I was 20. I now have a left knee replacement and a right ankle replacement so it’s a bit of a crap shoot deciding which leg to use starting. A few ibuprofens help as well once I get going. But what a Spartan piece of metal. A total hoot to take down the road.

I would love to have taken partin a ride like the long way down. I am now watching streams about riding accross India . Thanks for a good stream . lets jut see what fun you both get up to .

Well done for naming your favourite road being in Tasmania Charley. I lived on the West Coast at Zeehan for a year or so and rode the road to Hobart weekly, always a buzz! Born and bred here and still love the West Coast roads after almost 400,000kms on bikes :) Over the last year or so I have completed 24,000kms around the Australian mainland but I still love Tassie best.

Memory lane trip. My brother and I both out of work decided to go from Bristol to Donnington Park on my Yamaha FZR1000 EXUP to watch the superbike race. Arrived no money for a ticket to get in founda Fowlers van parked next to the wall managed to climb up onto it in full leathers over the wall which wasnt so easy . Later went into the infield just by following the crowd in and sat by the Spitfire on Craner curves drinking our beers when Carl Foggarty a great funny guy and a superb racer fell off at Craner curves and came and sat with us turned down a beer as he had another race. What it was to be so young and free. Totally true story.

I don't listen to music in metropolitan areas anymore. I was in fantastic mood once, in Brisbane, Australia and had the music in the helmet, Deep Purple, Machine head and was about to pull away from the kerb and there was a guy crossing the road and I was indicating go, go across and the guy on the kerb was messing around. I'd already looked for traffic and just jumped out but got collected buy a brand new ute. If I had ears, I would have heard it. 🙂

I had the privilege, and I don't use that word lightly, to watch the 1992 TT from Kirk Michael in the sunshine. A titanic battle between Carl and Steve. I wanted Steve Hislop to win for no other reason that me and my mates met him in a cafe in Douglas that week and he was an absolute gentleman to us. He was with his girlfriend and gave a us some of his valuable time. He was so modest and down to earth. I admire Foggy massively but if one rider is on a Yamaha and the other on a Norton, who are you gonna support?!! Steve's early demise was an absolute shame.
