Japanese trains are on a different level to the rest of world . It’s fantastic that a nation still spend money on designing and building brilliant individual trains . Here in the UK we have bland uncomfortable long distance trains with seats that shouldn’t even be on local trains . Long gone are the days of having a 4 course meal served silver service by a waiter in tails in the comfort of BR mark 3 restaurant car. Great videos sir .

Absolutely agree with you. I live 65 miles from London, some of our trains have seats that would be a disgrace on a local bus. Ironing boards have more padding. I remember comfortable trains with proper seats. These days it isn't even worth travelling first class.

wow, this has now become my new favorite train..... the cars look like living rooms with comfortable chairs... and some fun facts (or just regular facts): toilet looks almost exactly like the ones on shorter distance regional Danish trains, and that old-style door is similar to the ones in the old local trains I used to ride when visiting my grandparents....

No... I'm used to sleeping cars. He climbed onto the top shelf with a pillow under his head, put on his earmuffs, turned on the music. you want to sleep, you want to meditate. Tired of tears sat down near the window watching the scenery. Tired went to the restaurant car. And to sit all the way almost without getting up from a beautiful chair is tiring, and even the bones of the back at the end of the road begin to whine. Thank you for the video, it's great you filmed and showed everything. Beautiful landscapes, beautiful carriages.

Beautiful! On the East Coast of Florida there is Tri-Rail. It runs from West Palm Beach to Miami. It’s old, not very clean, bathrooms you prefer to avoid, pulled by some old Diesel engine. It shares the track with a freight company CSX, who owns the track and has priority. It’s very slow, less than 50 mph, I suspect. Train stations do not have restrooms due to the homeless. And they are not safe at night. The seats are made of hard plastic and many of the folks riding look like they just got out of prison or escaped. I told folks Tri-Rail means it needs to try a lot, lot harder. If your visiting research Brightline train system. It is privately owned, more expensive but clean and faster. But even that system, though very new, can’t compare with your video.

Ces japonais me stupéfient.

A question: When you film on the train seating areas or the dining area, does anyone (staff or public) ever ask you why you are filming or find it rude? Or do they not really care. Just curious if it's something you have to deal with while filming.

I lived in Japan, Yokota Air Base, for 3 years back in the late 60's. I took the trains everywhere. It was a a real thrill. One thing I was impressed with was that the trains were ON TIME, almost to the second. You could set your watch by them. Back then it was much cheaper. 360 yen to the dollar. The Japanese girls were just beautiful, thin and delicate.

I'm told it will proceed to Osaka-Namba station at 11:50AM So I just stay in the same train and swipe my ICOCA card and it'll automatically be charged YEN 960 once I reach Osaka-Namba station? Do I need to pay any extra for the Limited Express Ticket?
