I took out the old Wilson for a day at Whistler! My Evolve Skypilot was in the shop so I couldn't ride it anyways. This was the last week that Whistler was open and the last time I went there this year. It was a 2 day trip and I took my Evolve Alpha and the Wilson.
I did have to fix up a few things on this Wilson before bringing it out, and I was quite happy with how it was riding!

Dude you don't even know how much I have missed the Wilson. I'm so happy you decided to keep her no matter what. I hope that's a bike you decide to keep forever so you can always come back and do a retro ride against any other new bike you may have. Also great video editing. Pausing the video so we can see the grip u explained about the frozen dirt. Textured. The slow motion replay of the crash. I've been watching you for a long time and you have never put out a wack video. Definitely number 1 MTB KZfaqr. Always humble. I hope you can stay healthy to keep making videos into your 70s bro. that noise when he hit the trees gave me goosebumps and butterflies in the chest. gave me flashbacks when a friend of mine went full speed over his handlebars and slammed onto the ground really hard. Fractured a rib.

I'd say tubeless is objectively better if there's no shuttle to the top. Having your rims properly taped and beads seated is key though

Last time I knocked the wind out of myself was on a fourwheeler. Ended up with 8 screws and a plate in my right clavicle. But it felt like I couldn't breathe for an eternity. Glad you didn't get hurt.

Solid slam man, glad you came out of that relatively ok. I had a similar crash with the go pro brand chesty and it broke my ribs. Its just a soft pad with zero support. I should have been using the Stuntman chest mount like you are. I am pretty much positive that the solid plastic breast plate saves your ribs. Cant wait for whistler!!!!

Frozen to mud, sounds like my last ride, started off with frozen dirt and nicely packed and ridable snow, within an hour it turned into slush and mud haha.

That was a *hard* hit, and could have been a lot worse (fatal) had there been limbs sticking out or something along those lines. I'm really, really glad you're OK! If you don't wear chest protection, it's a no-brainer for park riding. I ride (dirtbike & mtb park) with something called a Tek-Vest - layered construction of HPDE plastic and foam. (The motocross stuff tends to be more for gravel roost protection than any serious impacts / punctures.) Made in Canada for snowmachine riding, but there are better venting versions made for dirtbikes and the sort. It gives great vital organ & back protection, and doesn't feel like it gets in the way of my riding. Stay safe out there! Good riding.

Best advice for when you knock the wind out of yourself is to put your arms above your head and stand. As opposed to being bent over on the floor. It really opens up your ribs and helps slow spasms as your brain knows there is no longer a threat. Losing your wind is basically like going into shock. Stay safe dude

I felt it when you was gasping for air please take your time an wear body armour where I live in South walse I had a friend did the same thing but he had heart attack after hitting a tree an past away sadly just please wear more chest armour I love your videos I watch them all the time.. lol those old bikes are sometimes pretty fun. I can understand tubless a bit. But to replace dh tube and such you'd need to run some form of cushcore pinchflat or something.

I just found a bunch of pictures of my rides on a cheap rim brake 26er hardtail. I can't believe where I took that bike. 100's of kms through the craziest "xc" trails in Ontario that weren't even made for bikes. No spare tubes or tools, I just went for it.

Yo Jordan, your videos and content are sweet. Been following for some time now, I’ve been riding bikes for as long as I can remember but in the last few years got heavy into Mtb. I’ve been progressing a lot lately and want to take a road trip out west to hit more trails and different terrain. I’ve never been to Whistler and it’s the place I want to ride most. In your opinion, when’s a good time of year to go? I know it’s the mtb Mecca and everyone goes. I’m more of the middle of the week kind of guy when lines are slim and trails are empty. I may be dreaming but my goal is to hit several parks on my way out west and go on up into BC. Cheers and keep up the good work. 🤙🏼
