Here's all of the footage I shot on the people mover system at IAH this January. Some was included in my Ixtapa Trip Report: • TRIP REPORT - United A... Most of the footage was taken on the quiet, new section between terminals B and A.

I used to go there on my way to and from Veracruz, MÉXICO. This is the only airport that has a direct fight to Veracruz

There are 4 stops for the TerminaLink. Terminal A Terminal B Terminal C Terminal D/E & International Arrivals Building

we have a similar sort of system between the two terminals here in Toronto and the long term parking lot. The only major difference is that the arins are pilled along by cable. The stop for terminal number one also now includes a transfer point for the airport express train to Union station downtown, also all announcements are made in english and french just like all flights that go in and out of canadian airports are.

Right at the beginning you see the revolving restaurant off in the distance. I remember going there when it first opened back in the '70s.

I believe you're thinking of the Hyatt Regency in downtown Houston (which opened in 1972). What you're seeing here is the Houston Airport Marriott.

Houston Intercontinental is a nice airport. The platform announcements on that train system sort of copy the ones on Denver Airport's train (except for the Spanish announcements, which Denver doesn't have).

Houston is a massive port of entry for flights all over Latin America (I believe it's #2 behind Miami). Lots of Spanish-speakers pass through, so those duel announcements are very necessary. Terminal B was really the biggest problem with this airport. Now that it's being massively renovated and even rebuilt in some areas, the whole experience is pretty nice.

Houston does have a lot more international traffic from Mexico than Denver does. However Denver has more traffic overall traffic. They're 5th busiest in the US, while Houston is 12th busiest. And Denver airport is also expanding and they're having problems with their trains capacity.

Elevating Denver Denver is in a pretty awesome position because it's in easy range of most cities in the western US and has tons of capacity, making it ideal as a place for connecting flights. Los Angeles and San Fransisco barely have enough capacity for their own populations. Hence, United, Southwest, and Frontier area all battling over Denver. It's a great position to be in.

***** Denver airport is probably the most well designed airport in the US. Denver has the capability to more than double it's current capacity. They can have over 300 gates, 12 runways and they have room for terminal expansion too. The latest project there, is a massive (kind of odd looking) 519-room, 12-story Westin hotel and a light-rail transit station. A minor project in addition to that, was the expansion of concourse C, adding 5 gates for Southwest on the west end. The only real issue at Denver airport, is their train system, which is running above it's designed capacity. But otherwise Denver has a great airport.

Elevating Denver I went to Denver two summers ago, and I agree- Beautiful airport, and has a lot of potential. Looked like they were just starting on the light rail project then.
