Quit swearing, but probably my favorite EMBN excursion piece in quite some time. Loved France, Spain and Italy, but Moab, Utah is only 1000 miles from 98661. Hopefully, you got to bring your family and can spend a LOT of time in USA and explore all that our mountains have to offer. Have fun and stay well.

Interesting to hear you mention the cigarette commercial while you were riding Dead Horse Pt. In the late 70's I flew the helicopter that carried the film crew for that commercial (can't remember the brand). Most of the shooting took place above the Schaffer trail which is a series of switch backs on a dirt road that drop off the top of Dead Horse Pt. to the White Rim Trail. Rode Slickrock on my Stump Jumper in the mid 80's when it was free and still get out there from time to time. Waiting on a new Cube 140 and will probably give it another try being only a 5 hr. drive. I'm 77 years old with three stints in my heart but thanks to E-bikes am still going strong. Have been enjoying your KZfaq Chanel for some time keep up the good work.

Having been riding Moab trails since the mid 90s, it was nice to finally see what an eMTB can show. I've re-discovered Moab since getting my Rail two years ago. But now it's all fun, all the time. I've discovered, as you have, that the best riding is on the 4x4 trails, and not the single track trails. "Double track, double the fun". I'm lucky enough to live in Denver (5 hours away from Moab), so I get to ride there at any time. In a few years I'll be retiring to Portugal and learning what Europe has to offer. But, for now, I'll keep riding the hell out of the Moab trails. Be well, stay safe and enjoy the ride.

A few years ago, while rapidly dehydrating faster than I could drink water under the hot morning sun at Slickrock, a year away from ankle replacement surgery, and behind a friend who was always braking on the downhill bits just before the uphills, I was suddenly inspired: "Hey, what about those E-bikes?" I got a Levo SL a few weeks ago. Liked the transport weight, didn't want to get spoiled by too much power, wanted something less tank-like, and wanted a reliable network for repairs on my first E-bike. It's been great so far, and I try to keep it in Eco mode as much as possible. Orbea Rises were unicorns (suddenly a bunch have shown up in shops this past week!). I feel like I can climb pretty much everything with the motor and enough effort!

Steve and team, did the powers at be at Moab allow you to ride the main MTB trails because you're both famous and special? I was there as an adult coach with my high school's MTB team for a high school MTB race. They made it very clear that eMTB's were NOT allowed on the more famous trails and loops -- the very loops you ride in this video. What the hell?!!! I'd like an explanation please... Did the stuffy Moab MTB purists make exceptions for you? I want to go back with my Trek Rail 7. Again, are Moab's famous single track trails open now to eMTB's???
@mickvallantine25232 жыл бұрын
Slick rock trail was originally a motorcycle trail that allowed MTB's on it and remains motorcycle friendly so of course ebikes are allowed on it. Amasa back trail is double track (jeep) trail so ebikes are also permitted. Very few places are you allowed to ride EMTB's on single track however Deadhorse state park is one that welcomes Ebikes.
