I work at an amusement park with a skycoaster, it’s only 100 feet tall but those cables are galvanized steel, capable of holdin g 9,800 pounds and you are held in by two. Everyone should try it at least once!

ItsRusevDay well I'm not 100% sure what's right, but Tim pronounced it like "kiss-imee". Less emphasis on what I thought was an "a" sound in the middle, if you get me haha. But I guess it up to you how you pronounce it anyway 😊

Tim pronounced it correctly. And I THANK him for that! Born in Kissimmee and proud of it! Just because someone mispronounces the name, doesn't mean that the name changes. I've done that sky coaster twice and it doesn't get any easier... Or any less fun!

My neighbors son broke his back on that sky coaster when it caught a hit due to the wind. Of-course you have to sign a waver so the costs for the hospital weren't paid for, Fun Spot America didn't care about the safety nor the well being of their paying guests.

Otto Tieleman Of course they care about all their visitors! Any theme park owner must do everything possible to protect their visitors from harm. If Owner has failed to protect their visitors from harm or injury the law says they breached their obligation. Clearly in your neighbors case the park did nothing to breach their agreement. The rider signed a waiver and the injury to his back was not due to the ride snapping, or any ride malfunction, nor operator error. Clearly Park is free of any issue of fault on their behalf, that’s why they have that waiver to sign! Thats why you better think long and hard if that 1 minute of thrill is worth it in the end anything is possible and it’s all on you when u sign that line. Sorry to hear about this! I can relate renting a jet ski 15 years ago I had to sign waiver and of course I did Rooster tail on it and twisted my back so bad to this day I can still feel the deep ache but I signed waiver they laughed at me stating not their fault. Even though I was on their property oh well I signed the line. Hang in there!!

I partially agree with you but if a ride is so sensitive it can't handle a wind gush resulting in possible injuries then I think you should close it. But by law they are right, that doesn't make me feel good about the operator of this attraction nonetheless. Thankfully his back recovered but I will advice anyone to not do this attraction.

Otto Tieleman I know that is very high. They should shut that thing down if it’s going to be a certain amount of wind that day. If there is a waiver for any ride I don’t do them. So I won’t do that ride. God bless your sweet neighbor. Just let him know he’s got strangers on his side praying for recovery. When he does recover no more riding anything dealing with a waiver! Poor guy!

I was laughing the entire video. They have a skycoaster at Carowinds here in the Carolinas. I was working in accounting when it opened. It had to be tested on employees first. I rode that things at least twice a day when I worked. Loved it. I'm going to have to try that one.

I was watching all of your Sunspot vids because my class was going for my eigth grade trip. However, thanks to my delinquint classmates, it was canceled. You did a funspot video a couple of years ago and the day we learn we are not going to Funspot Kissimmee; but instead SkyZone Fort Myers you make video. Note to Jen (cuz I know you edit the videos): I always prefer the forward-facing camera shot when Tim is on the rides. It lets me see what it would be like to ride it myself - my vicarious thrill! Just my own opinion... Thanks, Tim & Jen, for taking us to so many fun locations!

Haha! I grew up with the wild mouse! My glasses flew off at idlewild and the “cast members” as you call them, went looking for it. They found the frame, and looked around for the lenses for like an hour! God bless them. Always weird to see you ride rides like that, when I could never because I grew up with a wild mouse and a wooden rollercoaster and an irrational fear of being upside down. Props to you!

I've been on that sky coaster back in May of 2007. It was fun, was part of my senior cass trip to Florida. We rode in charter busses from Iowa to Florida (24 hr drive). We stay for a week and would come back and graduate the next day.

Old town is great to explore at night. Tons of novelty shops and decent priced bars that's like 50/50 locals and tourists, more of the younger crowd than the dive bars in the area. Also, you didn't show the slingshot? Did they take it down?

I have ridden both skycoasters and loved them both but I prefer the 300ft. As you can see Disney. Both parks were clean , friendly and love the coasters. Parks come alive at night and old town is a must . I'm ready to go back.

Pardon me, that wooden roller coaster went *up. Sided. Down.* ?! PARDON ME, BUT I GREW UP WITH A WODDEN ROLLERCOASTER AND IM JUST GOING TO TELL YOU, THATS NOT OK. THATS A BIG N O N O With saying that, our wodden coaster is very low, and a kid literally died on it. It wasn’t that intense, but now they have a metal cart, and a weight limit. We also have that air plain thing, terrifying because it goes very close to the trees.

Hey mate! If you don't like riding coasters twice to get forwards and backwards footage, consider investing in a 360 camera like I have (see: my blogs from Bush Gardens Tampa and Alton Towers in the UK, both on my channel!). That way you can simply hold the camera in your hand and then pick the forward/reverse shots later, or even do picture in picture! Also it's totally stabilised so it's like taking a gimbal on the ride, and it wasn't that expensive either (mine is an 'Insta 360 One').
