That's exactly why I got the Derby Cruze ones, because they looked so nice. I also had this image in my head what skate boots should look like and that curve is also such a nice touch. Unfortunately, they're a little small for me because I only recently found out that I'm between sizes and skates only come in full sizes, but I did skate in them for a whole month hoping to break them in and apart from obviously the length not changing, if they were my size, they'd be very comfy and nice to skate in.

I have these same skate boots! Mine also came with wheels that I didn't really vibe with the color, but I discovered you can dye them! There is a few videos here on youtube but you just use the Rit synthetic dye and it works great!

So thankful I found your review! Would you reccommend the Riedell 111 Citizens as a beginners first pair? I like that they come with the outdoor wheels, and I know they make moxi skates.

Definitely, I really wish I had them earlier. The Zen wheels are good for indoor skating too.😊

To answer your question about which skates I'm lovin: I have Chicago's deluxe. They run big and heavy. I have Impalas. I'm happy to support their female empowerment. But gee, they could at least be a little more accommodating to their male market too. I'm almost too embarrassed to use them out in public, because their packaging is marketed to the females. But, I love how light weight they are, compared to my Chicagos, and as someone said on their vlog, "are you skating for yourself to enjoy or just to show off?" When I think about it in that sense... damn, just hand me a pair of glitzy jammers that fit. I don't give a @#$%, as long as I am happy doing what I love. But I must admit, I do have my social standards... I also have the RDs. Have yet to try them on, cause they have indoor wheels. I was thinking about getting a pair of Ridells or Sure Grip. But for now, I'll stick with these three.

@@ShawnonSkates So, naturally, not being a flashy guy, I went with standard black, with smoky wheels and the white lettering. Isn't it funny (sad actually) how society places men (I don't know if it's just white appearing [I say white appearing, because there are those of us that are mixed/multi-race, that appear to be white] men)? Saying that we can only wear black skates. I say this, because I see my other brothers of richer color wearing anything from white to leopard print, and it's just accepted. If a white male wears anything but black, his sexuality is immediately questioned. And that's why I make that statement, that I have to remind myself, "am I skating for my own enjoyment, or for others?" I see other guys wearing sky blue skates, and I wish I were as brave!!! I'm such a weenie, that I won't even try white skates. But I saw this guy just killing it with his white skates on, and I was like the look was tight!!! #masculineinsecurities!!!

Is there a major difference between the men’s fit vs the women’s fit? Also, do you know the difference between the Citizen Boot and the Angel Artistic style boot?

Yes, the men's boot is wider. The Citizen and the Angel are the same 111 boot. The difference is that the Citizen has a fixed toe stop and the Angel has an adjustable stop. Hope that helps😊

I don't have them. I really loved them. They were white and I beat them up pretty bad. I can't be out here looking like that. The only drawback was that they squeaked sometimes I think because of the nylon plates (I can't stand strange noises). Other than that, they were the closest things I have had to Edea skates. They made me feel like a pro!

Does the 8 in men’s fit well or do you think a 7 would be better im a size 9 in general but don’t have a very wide foot

Since you don’t have a wide foot, I would go with the 7. I do have a wide foot and there is still some wiggle room in the 8. 🤞👍

I wear size 9 in US women's shoes and I wear an 8 in the white 111. I have an 8 in the black too. The black ones are larger because the men's boots are cut wider. Hope that helps😊

I ordered! I wore 6.5-7 in US Women’s, and I ordered size 6. I used cm from the chart they sent me. Thank you for your response!

Tough question, I am a size 9 in women's and I have a size 8 which is a snug, but not uncomfortable, fit. It is always best to reference the size chart and have your actual foot measurement in cm or mm because the sizes in skates will match up much better that way than with shoe sizes.
