Our fishing manager Rob is at it again and is going to answer a question he receives a fair bit here in-store at Getaway Outdoors Balcatta. How to cast with a bionic finger. Rob is going to show you how simple it is to use a bionic finger making it a game changer when it comes to your future fishing adventures.

Firstly make sure you are holding the rod correctly. Get your dominant hand and place that at the highest part of the rod grip with your opposite hand around the foot of the reel and around the rod. Push the trigger away from rod allowing you to wrap the line around the metal knob part of the bionic finger. The video shows leader being used to wrap around the bionic finger, however it doesn't matter if you attach braid or a monofilament line to your rig. Once the line has been placed correctly pull the trigger closed by pulling towards the rod. You are now able to open your bail arm ready to cast. Keep in mind that because your starting position has changed from a traditional mid-high mount rod you will need to time your release a little earlier. This is something that may take you a few casts to adjust but as they say... practice makes perfect! You are now ready to experience the power of a low mount style of fishing. Make your way to the waters edge and cast away. Just remember to release the trigger when you hit the required angle and cast that line out as far as you can. Happy fishing!
