Smoking, drinking. He stopped just in time. he was heavy on both and no telling what else. He still sounds great to me. Im pretty sure hes using a vocal coach too with the techniques hes using that he never used to do. His range is still insane.

I think he sounds so much better now than he did during the Tears on Tape era (don't get me wrong, I love that album too). I think his voice has power and strength back. I saw him live about 2 weeks ago and he sounded great
