Loved your enthusiastic, spontaneous reaction to this magnificent performance by Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Brothers! Appreciate very much that when you paused it, you went back a bit before hitting play. This is a masterpiece however, and allowing continuity of the entire song lets us best appreciate how the singer is pouring his heart and soul into this performance. Incomparable vocals by the immortal Bobby Hatfield! 💜🙏🏼

10 years old I fell in love with both the Righteous Brothers watched that show as a kid. Brings back memories. An Angel voice called home in 2003. No one can live up to his voice.

Bobby’s performance was a blessing. Well said! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I was 24 when he performed this. Every woman in America fell in love with Bobby Hatfield that night. It was 57 years ago and I am no 80. It still give me a thrill!

Aww, Bobby, we miss you so. Bobby Hatfield’s mother was in the audience that night and he was extremely nervous about his performance. Needless to say, he nailed it. He nailed it so well that nobody - NOBODY - can touch it. And every time I see him smile and bite his lip, I fall in love all over again. Incomparable. Truly incomparable.

HI JENNY, MAYBE LOVERS CAN EMPLOY "BITING OF THE LIP" GENTLY WHEN THEY KISS AS A MEMORY TO THIS GREAT MAN WITH HIS GOD GIVEN WONDERFUL GIFT, THAT WOULD 'TOUCH' AND IMPACT SO MANY OF US, BUT MOSTLY THE GIRLS WHO GOT SO EMOTIONAL AND "FELL IN LOVE" WITH HIM AND THE SONG. I HAVE MADE MY COMMENTS REGARDING THIS MAN AND HIS PERFORMANCE. I THOUGHT HE LEFT US TOO EARLY, BUT WE ARE ALL IN THE HANDS OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR FOR SUCH APPOINTED TIMES. TAKE CARE JENNY > EMILIO FROM AUSTRALIA WHERE WE ARE COVID - 19 FREE.

This was live on the Andy Williams show Just his voice from the heavens above and a small microphone. THEY had to really learn the music. This is Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Bros doing this solo. There us another Righteous Bros Bill Melody but he wasn't singing in this performance. They both did solos over their careers. This performance was sheer perfection His,voice was effortless doing this. No artist before or after him will ever do this song better. Many fell in love to this song and with him. (Only thing you interrupt it to much and can't appreciate the whole performance.

Wonderful reaction from someone so young . You can really appreciate great music such as this classic ; good ear . Bobby Hatfield was one of the greatest !

The Righteous Brothers would sometimes do a solo performance and they flipped a coin over which one would get to do this one. Now, some people say Bobby Hatfield was the lucky winner but I say we are! Their other quintessential song is You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling. It is just as wonderful.

Just watching his face, you can tell that this performance was effortless for him. Live and before auto-tune existed. Thank you for watching and appreciating. No one today comes close to his talent.

Hey Lech, it's all down hill from here, you just listened to possibly the greatest recorded live solo performance in music history. It won't get any better, although there are many others..."up there", it was fun watching your reaction. These guys came on the scene when I was in high school in the early 1960's, during the same couple years that Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and so many other "greats" emerged.

This is Bobby's song! No one can sing like he did. This is 1965 when he sang it. Pure raw talent!!! I was 15 yrs old when I heard him sing this song. I'm 73 yrs old and I love hearing him all the time. I love him!!!💞💞💞

I sang this to my wife at our wedding in 1983. She, however she said I murdered it. I'm guessing it's not a song for a baritone, she told me I was of better sticking to my drumming. I thought it was an appropriate song as I was in the Royal Marine Commandos, I had returned from the war for the Falkland Islands when I proposed, and now was shipping out to Sierra Leone two days later, so much for my attempt at being romantic. On the upside she liked me in my Dress Uniform, and having my comrades forming the sword tunnel helped. I must have done something write because we're still together. With 4 children and 7 grandchildren, we got busy on baby's when I was home. I served my Queen and Country for 34 years as a Royal Marine Commandos and in the British Special Forces, and then 2 years in hospital, and she stuck by me even though I'm wheelchair bound now. We do actually have a song by Queen called "Your Me Best Friend", a very apt song as she has been my best friend since we were both 16.

They are not Brothers in the sense of blood but they are brothers in friendship. Their names are Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield.

Righteous Brothers are 2 guys ( not at all brothers) Bobby Hatfield ( the one singing this song) and Bill Medley. Sometimes they did a few solos. If you want to hear them together check out " You've Lost That Loving Feeling" and Soul & Inspiration. Other songs include Rock N Roll Heaven, Ebb Tide, You'll Never Walk Alone, I Just Want To Make Love To You.💓💓💯👍

That was indeed a pleasure listening to this very beautiful love song sir. I was wondering just out of curiosity could you please if you have a chance play another solo by Bobby Hatfield called "Summertime"1965. I'd appreciate it very much also your reaction of his musical vocal ability and why did people refer to their particular kind of music as "Blue Eyed Soul". Thank you sir, once appreciate it. Thank you. Hve a blessed evening.

HELLO LECH, BOBBY HATFIELDS PERFORMANCE IS WHAT WE CALL NOW "X-FACTOR" PLUS. HE DISPLAYED HIS NATURAL GOD GIVEN MUSICAL GIFT - AMEN BRO THE DECISION WAS MADE FOR BOBBY TO SING THIS SONG AS A SOLO AND TIME PROVED THAT DECISION TO BE CORRECT AS IT BECAME A NO 1 HIT AT THAT TIME BOBBY SUNG THIS SONG SOFTLY, SMOOTHLY, SWEETLY, SENSUALLY AND WITH GREAT SOUL GRIPPING PASSION THAT WAS SO PURE, CLEAN, ELEGANT & POWERFULLY BEAUTIFUL THIS SONG IS SO ICONIC IT WAS IN THAT FAMOUS FILM "GHOST" STARRING PATRICK SWAZE AND DEMI MOORE. THIS SONG AND THAT FILM WERE A PERFECT MATCH. I HAVE HEEARD MANY VERSIONS OF THIS SONG (incl Elvis), BUT BOBBY SUNG THIS SONG THE BEST - PERIOD. HE TRULY OWNS THIS PARTICULAR SONG. I HAVE SEEN MANY GIRL REACTORS AND MOST ARE SO EMOTIONAL OR TEARY OR SPEECHLESS OR OVERWHELMED OR SIMPLY "FELL IN LOVE" WITH BOBBY AND THIS SONG. GREAT REACTION BRO. This song takes on more meaning when understood in context...the song comes from a prison movie about a man doing time and singing to his wife from prison...In 1954, Alex North was contracted to compose the score for the prison film "Unchained"(released in 1955).... North then asked Hy Zaret to write the lyrics, but Zaret initially declined, saying he was too busy painting his house. North was able to convince him to take the job, and together they wrote "Unchained Melody."...and the rest is history...maybe the most beautifully written romantic song of all time...and as I understand Zaret did eventually get his house painted.
