Charlene A. Hood sometimes people don’t understand certain terminology as it’s not in their vocabulary... Yasin’s question was quite clear and if your goal is for everyone to stand together then you’ve got to be open minded to explain a couple things here and there and try not to be defensive/annoyed if someone is reaching out for information, because by you questioning someone’s curiosity it comes across that way even though that might not be your intention.

I have had NonBlack acquaintances and friends since childhood. (The two are very different for me.) NonWhite/NonBlack friends were the better of the friends than White friends. To be honest this group is where I find my best NonCaribbean (when they were not Caribbean) friends. As far as Whites go ... Some of the friendships had depth and mutual respect and love. Others literally started to sound like the Klan and I avoided them. This started in JHS. What I have noticed is that my Ashkenzi Jewish friends were the only White-identified friends that didnt contain racists. Yuck. The other White friends varied. (The White Caribbeans I encountered are genuine. They differed from any other group of Whites I met and only NonCaribbean White Latinos were anywhere near half as genuine. NEVER do they ever made me or any other NonWhite Caribbean feel lower or inferior or try that racism mess. They know we are lile family.) --- B.

@@ThePthinker what? Surely you already know this, you live in a world created by western civilisation? Shall I go all the way back to the genesis of western civilisation in ancient Greek and Roman culture, with people like Socrates, Homer, Caesar or the building of the Parthenon or Colosseum. Or perhaps you would rather I move slightly forwards in history to the renaissance where one comes across the works of Michelangelo and Shakespeare. No, maybe that is still too far for you. Let’s move forward to the enlightenment and the great scientific and industrial revolutions of the western heartland in Europe. Here we can see the creation of the modern world with the invention of the steam engine, moral evolution in the works of Dickens and Balzac, not to mention the political development of universal democracy and the rule of law. But we need not travel into the near past, we need only look to the modern age. In this age, western civilisation has created nuclear energy, the computer, jet engines and space travel. This is what western civilisation is; it is the light of humanity, it is the engine of modernity and progress. But yes, I guess African Americans did give us jazz and Kanye west, but its not quite the same, is it….

I remember when I saw Rihanna in London when she was 17 years old, on her own. She stood next to me, a normal girl about to perform in a small gathering. I wish I spoke to her, and somehow had a chance to stay in touch with her, (not because she’s gone on to become a global star) but because she blossomed into one the most admirable, beautiful women and soul. Her heart is the purest and most loving to humanity. She feels the pain of normal people. She’s kind and always uses her voice unlike many other celebrities.

including herself they all make speeches and stand on platforms. But the sad fact is they don't ever stick together when sh*t hits the fan. They are all quiet cause they won't risk their bag of $$$.

Her level of comfort on the stage is inspiring!!! I have not heard much from her about the recent protests, but she was 3 months ahead of us all. She is a visionary in all aspects. I have so much respect for Rihanna.

Yeah after high school n college you realize who your real friends are when you tell them to pull up, when you have nothing. Who really shows up? Less than you can imagine.

Kept it short and sweet. To me that was a hood savy speech. But it was still powerful. When it comes to society today and how to fix it. Tell yo friend to pull up along with you or shut up. Loved riri!! She will forever be my crush. 🥰

Sadly, this will fall on deafs ears, my short 20 years on this earth being a black male & having multiple friends and family members murdered by my own kind gives me little hope that my community will ever come together. We’re too distracted spending our dollars and putting value into materialistic things & who’s beefing with who on TheShadeRoom. Until we stop supporting that then we can start progressing. ⚡️💯

I feel you, man but you should never lose hope. Wtf do you have left if you don't have hope? The way I look at it, every black individual ain't worth saving. Just find like minded ones and start building with them.

LittleGothGirl 💯 Yes m’am. I honestly do still have hope, maybe in due time will our community stop focusing so much on other people’s drama like theshaderoom & start putting our money into black owned businesses & stop stealing & killing each other.
