Thank you for sharing the video. I really enjoyed it and could feel the atmosphere of the venue. Ryuichi Kihara was suffering from exercise-induced asthma and was unfortunately unable to attend the award ceremony.

Lately just this season a lot skaters choose to do triple jump double axel and another double as their three jump combo. Had the Japanese pairs lady hadn't pop her Salchow and did triple instead the scores would almost been even closer!?

They won the free skate. They were too far behind to catch up. Their grades of executions were basically all higher than the Canadians. If she would have landed her jump they would have won overall. I don’t think it was unfair. The Japanese are better skaters for sure. Just not good enough on the short at this competition.

Bruno Marcotte - Ryuichi Kihara all of a sudden got lightheaded; they had to administer oxygen to him. He's on the mend now and feeling better, but he feels bad that he couldn't perform his duties for the medal ceremony and properly congratulate Stellato/Deschamps

At the 2023 Autumn Classic the Japanese did something similar when they lost to Deanna and Max...after the medals they left the ice before the victory lap leaving the Gold and Bronze medalists on the ice. Its called poor sportsmanship.

She doubled the salchow here, and they came into the LP being several points behind the Canadian after the SP.

She didnt do her triple sal and later on did she miss the butterfly too and only do a loop jump.

Spot on. Beautiful skating sometimes just isn't enough to win you the world title. You also need a visible choreo and this is what they're lacking at.

She looks like a 12 year old. I am not sure aesthetically if I like these two, but they do skate well of course. Didn't like the poor reaction to them not getting gold in the kiss and cry area...they appear to be lacking in sportsmanship

Thank you for calling it out. I was at the event and noticed she looked very unhappy/ pisse after the long. Apparently she had exercise induced asthma and was treated for it after, but she still made it through her program. They missed the medal ceremony. It looked a little strange at the medal ceremony to only have two teams. I understand it was a hard loss, but could you not just show up for the ceremony? A silver medal at the worlds is a huge accomplishment. Could you not be happy for the winning team who won in their home country? FYI they train in Canada and have a Canadian coach. IMO not showing up at the ceremony was a cop out and made them look like immature sore losers. There was a Japanese lady behind me who cleary did not like me being so excited about the Canadian team's accomplishment. This saddens me because unlike some Japanese fans us Canadians cheer on everyone in addition to Canadians.

@@skatingcanuck9837 I heard about the asthma as well, - she looked mad. Also, they did the same thing at the autumn classic - didn't show up when Deanna and Maxime won it...they could have had at least one of them stand on the podium...not both of them had asthma.
