I remember seeing footage of a wiped-out delta town or village like this one marveling on the community spirit to have lain and stacked all the timbers roadside up to 2 storeys tall either side so orderly a couple of days afterwards - I saw no heavy machinery around either in the midst of passersby

shortly before this tsunami, I'd happened to steadily be coming across Manga depictions of tsunamis, of which most were drawn as ABOMINABLY fierce indeed, oof!

These beautiful, busy, thriving communities and literally every single aspect that made up those communities has been wiped from the face of the earth, replaced with debris, devastation, destruction, despair, depression, death and disappearances! No country can set in place sufficient early warning and mass evacuation systems in coastal regions to defend the people against the unparalleled and overwhelming oceanic forces that destroyed these communities in minutes! There is only one certainty, that is there will be future earthquakes and tsunamis, and they may be even greater than those experienced on that truly terrible day!

Japanese towns & cities happen to be dreadful on the eyes for me; sorry, yet clutter thereabouts got to being amplified
