Yeah, when you boil everything down to the basics everything is everything. The point of differentiating by saying "not an extraction shooter", is cause the only game everyone would think of then is Tarkov and would instantly compare when there is barely anything similar. It's the same sort of thing as saying that a game is "souls like" for having a dodge roll mechanic and 3rd person, it dumbs everything down to nothingness. Is the new Need For Speed games now considered fuckin "extraction drivers" cause they feature the ability to extract at certain points of the map after earning enough money? exactly no.

I feel that the faction on faction warfare (AI v AI, that is) is something that NEEDS to happen. If the AI only ever shoot at players, then everyone else within audio distance will immediately know that there are players nearby to fight. However, if you cannot tell whether or not a gunfight involves players, I believe people will be less likely to just hold W towards them. Overall looks super interesting though.

Main thing that will make or break this game though is if the AI is brain dead like in 99% of other shooters. I get so bored with milsim style PvE games when the AI is only challenging because they have godlike aim. Ironically Call of Duty has some of the most realistic looking AI when it comes to them actually using cover, blind fire, etc.. Where as the main milsim game Arma the AI can't do anything other than stand up or lay down in the middle of the open. If they can't make decent AI, they just need to scrap this idea and make it PvPvE.

As someone coming from EFT and who has stopped playing it because of all it's issues, I really have big hopes for this game. They seem to be experienced as devs, to have a clear idea of what the community wants but also have their own vision completed by taking the best out of every game in the genre. It's great to feel like we're being taken seriously and listened to as players for once, no promises are being made in order to not disappoint, and every bit of ressources they have is apparently being used to make this project better instead of over-inflating the hype around it. I basically feel like I'm looking at what EFT "should've been" to be more popular.

Tarkov is the best its ever been, and not to pull on the same stick but the game's still on Beta - and yes, good things take time, especially from indie devs who don't have AAA budgets starting off. I was very confused with what they were going for, and now that I know it is mainly focused on PvE it really made me excited. The only thing I wish for now is some sort of offline mode for the game, which I think works alot better here compared to Tarkov. Not that I want to avoid other players and PvP (which seems to be cool here as well), but to guarantee the future of it if ever the game dies down. Maybe some sort of "coop only" mode as well to mix up the experience, but maybe I am just so tired of Tarkov at this point and perhaps this game will not get as old lol. Looks super promising! Especially loving the quest types, which seem less focused on just hoarding junk etc.
@ninochaosdrache31897 ай бұрын

Second this. My concern with PvP is always that while you can choose to avoid it. That’s just half of the equation. You can never choose not to have somebody else impact your game. A coop mode would open this up to everybody interested in this type of title without interest in pvp. If the game already has competent AI , a coop mode wouldn’t be super difficult to add either.

I really hope they take their time and release the game in a decent state to the wider public. Everything the devs said sounds good band it really feels like they want to actively communicate with interested/ potential players, which is incredibly important and a lot of companies lack that communication with their community (*cough cough bsg). However I think its always important to not jump on any hypetrains and blindly pre-order anything. The track record of these devs is great! Their games are often very beautiful looking, bug free, fun, networked mobile games. This could actually give them a leg up. Since they are used to making networked, well working and performant mobile games, means they have a lot of experience with getting good looking games running on many different platforms (different phones with many different chipsets) So they are probably more experienced with the things where most indie game devs burn. QA, performance tweaking, proper networking etc. I mean their games are mobile, but that's not saying anything perse. Their games could have been made for any platform tbh. I have very high hopes for this game. And for me personally this style and level design is perfect! Never played Tarkov, but I've always loved games like Dayz (even the ultra janky mod), rust, scum etc. This game actually seems much more fun than Tarkov to me. Edit: Salute

@riloe Gaming it might be worthwhile communicating to the devs that there is a alot of distance between hand holding and making players dependent on third parties to complete quests. One of my biggest frustrations about Tarkov is quest design and a large number of quests are nearly impossible to complete without relying on 3rd party sources like the wiki. They should explore ways to bridge that gap in an immersive way in game.

This 100% Tarkov is not “mature.” It’s a full time job and impossibly dense and unintuitive. Its quests don’t help it.

I'll believe it when I see it, at this point we've had way too many studios promise way too much for me to believe anything until they show a working product

I am very excited. I have no negative caveats to present whatsoever. This seems like a perfect experience with intentional squad-based tactics and open exploration. It pulls together a bunch of things from other games I already loved but which did not have satisying or intense enough gameplay loops. This gameplay loop seems decision-based and interesting. A good risk/reward beneficiary balance. Be on the look out for this game FOR SURE.

salute and can i just add that this is an incredible looking game, and that, for a company of only 80 devs, to have done that much in 2 years, whilst being open to ideas and criticism, is absolutely amazing, i both congratulate and praise them. Game looks great, would love to try its closed/open beta

80 is a pretty strong dev team, even for todays standards. I believe Tarkov started with way less.

This Not-An-Extraction shooter where you take gear into a raid, loot and shoot and then try to extract with whatever you picked up in order to secure it in your base actually looks really sweet, hope the gameplay lives up to the top notch visuals.

Honestly, I think a COOP PVE only side of the game would be way more beneficial or a system that makes PVP have a cost even if you win.

I absolutely love how theres no way points and cookie cutter queats. You find it out on your own. It immerses you so much more in the game and adds so much ive been dying for a game to be like this. Game sounds so promising like a game ive been waiting since i was a kid for...

Assuming this runs... I'd love to see extreme debilitating injuries result teammates carrying/dragging a still conscious players out or if solo maybe you use up a resource to call in an evac and you could exit the game. These evac's could be dynamically generated quests for other pmc's.

48 players and 1000 AI makes this seem like a scam point blank. The medical and damage system isn't impossible but sounds ambitious too. They should advertise much less and if they deliver more nobody will be upset or call it lies/false advertising/scam. If even remotely real this could be the big game in the military tactical shooters.

Yeah, the fact that BSG a much larger studio with a long history of building much larger games is having such a problem with streets with a much smaller player count and AI count is pretty telling. This all sounds way too good to be true, especially coming from the studio that has never produced a game remotely like this before

The best part for me is that you will have a choice to play pure pve or pvpve so you don't always have to PVP if you don't feel like it. Being a player that likes to bounce back and fourth between the two I'll be supporting these guys for sure. Very excited for this game.
@razielhex64987 ай бұрын
You can choose not to engage other players, but they can attack you whenever, so there will always be PvP.

umm good luck with that 95% of players in hard core games like this will always shot other players on sight so they them selves cant be attacked . shame the devs havent realised this.

I salute you man! Subbed and liked. I’ve been following the game for a while and your video was FINALLY something different. It actually broke the game down to what the idea of the game loop will kinda be. Extremely happy it’s PvEvP and emphasis on E and not the P. Was hoping this would be a co-op hardcore milsim story driven game and it sounds like it’s leaning more towards that… for now… Thanks for the video and look forward to more info on this game and your content in general! 🫡
@user-xn7fh2iu1o5 ай бұрын
its actually like sea of thieves, you have pvp but you dont have to engage in it, you steal loot then secure it by selling (or returning to base in this game), you also do lots of quests, and you also have a lot of ai, and lore(you can play SoT without ever touching the story missions)
@semmert7 ай бұрын
So it's another tired PVPVE extraction shooter like the tons of other clones out there that will soon be overrun by hackers and griefers. Exactly what we thought it was. Where's the mystery?
