You originally grabbed Nisbet to be a Rancher, and since she's Unconstructive she won't be able to build the items that Mechatronic Engineers build. You may want to skill scrub her and reset her back to the intended Ranching instead of Operating specialties.

You can seal the pod in a small room with only a transit tube to the base to solve the new dup issue.

You Should set the base doors to default allow all in. That will let the new dupes in by default. Then just let them out when ready.

When you're done with all this mess you should try melting the printing pod :)

Lovely! As for annoying liquids in the oil pool, I recently started to just isolate the liquid pumps "under the floor" and have them on a hydro sensor, same principle as for the hydrogen pump in a SPOM. Thus, no more worrying about any water or petroleum or what-have-you that may pile up, hooray.

just fyi - simplest shove room is just a single wall on the right side. and 1 cage door where you drop eggs into the door, they can't cramp. and being confined doesnt bother them at all. reason u need a wall on left side of the door is they'll lay an egg but the egg ends up inside the door. the floor needs to be an obsidian tile. thats it.

I was watching a video from Grind This Game and when I went to his channel to find this series I was completely baffled. I had to look in my watch history to check who it was XD You two sound kinda similar and have a somewhat similar more technical approach to the game, so when I was watching his video I didn’t realize that it was the wrong channel. @Francis - Regarding getting viewers to suggest dupe names, this is a great way to boost your YT engagement metrics (which is very significant to the algorithms that drive traffic). The one issue with your current process is that viewers don't get to see the name selections in real-time. I think you might do even better if every time you hire a dupe, you pick from one of the pre-suggested names and give a shout-out to the user who suggested it. Then you tell the current viewers to leave their name suggestions in the comments, along with the dupe trait their name would be appropriate for. To make it easy to pick names, you could keep a spreadsheet of name_suggestion, associated_dupe_trait, suggesting_user. If updating the spreadsheet becomes annoying, it's an easy thing to either outsource or script (I could help with scripting it). Food for thought. Love your videos. Re your problem with food going off in the great hall... I havent tested this but it could be a decent idea? Have the floor made out of doors on their side. Have a timer going off when nobody is in the hall to open the doors n let the food fall through. Then you can have sweepers in that area to pick up the food n take it back to the kitchen

You should set up your main base exit doors to default to allowing in but not allowing out, that way when you print new dupes they should automatically run into the base to the gym instead of you manually opening the door for them

I may be crazy, but I think the dupes drop the food when eating because they are too far away from the food storage to return it. You could try testing the distance, I'm not 100% on it myself, I haven't tested it, but that may to be the case.

you have removed the part of the floor that was completing the room of your nature reserve in the core base, you may want to install a permanently open door sideways there

Why not use a heating loop? Would take a lot less than the space heaters which are really, truly terrible. I've always setup a small automated heating loop for my 'hot' plants and you never have to worry about it ever again. Btw, being able to build and rebuild natural tiles as you need really is handy, isn't it? :D

Seems my Dreckos just sit there and starve. Planted the plants. They grow and they never eat. I've got mine showing cycles to death. And they have zero kcals in them. Yet the plants are right there growing happily along. Went through a more than a few cycles for the stuff rotting on the vine. But the Dreckos don't eat and starve.

can't you make the default on your base entrance to be entrance only and then override that for all the dupes that have completed gym training. That way all new dupes can enter but not leave
