Found the issue as to why i was not getting any chime sound on motion detection. My iphone ring/silent switch on the side of the phone was muted. Iphone for dummies.. Now my ring door bell 2 works like a charm.

having seen thje reviews I think it could do with a unit that screws to a wall inside the home so it shows the same video feed simultaniously as the outside camera. Or have additional ones that can be positioned anywhere in the home wirelessly.

The way you briefly mentioned the Ring Chime SPEAKER it made people think you could talk both ways with callers via this but you can't, it's just so you can hear the ring chime if someone rings the bell, or there's another sound you can get when it's just movement activated.. there is no two way communication with the person there, using this, just to be clear

Great Doorbell usually works well. Great Tech support too. But sadly it all depends on your Wi/fi and usually it works. But when it goes down and your not at home and you have to reboot the system. It has to wait till you get back home to make it work again. So basically if your wi/fi screws up there goes your security system.

This doorbell camera is hands down awesome! It connects to my Armorax encrypted system and I can see whoever’s at my door right from my phone.

I agree with most of what you say but my biggest issue is I get notified every time a car drives by. I have adjusted the cone for the motion several times to fix it but for some reason it will not save and it drives me nuts. Also customer service is not very knowledgeable when it comes to the items they sell. Other than that It is a pretty good product.

I have installed a ring video door bell and my problem is that there's too long a delay between the camera and beii alarm which means that the caller is gone so I don't get a picture.

I have ring 2 doorbell. it does all these you mentioned but one thing that it does not do when you most want it to work is that when there is a motion or ring at the front door it does not open to allow you to speak to the caller or to see who is at the front door. The app keeps loading and loading and loading up to a minute and then if you are lucky you might get to speak to the delivery guy, if he/she is still hanging around. This is frustrating because the company keeps telling me that my internet is not fast. The router is right behind the front door and the internet is fast at my place and at work. Many time when i request live view it shows black screen and sometimes it won't open. The other big disapointment is that the support I receive from the company is nothing or the bare minimum. I have supbscribed to have my videos stored, and because i delete them from my phone list they say the videos are deleted from their data too. So whats the use of me paying them when they can't keep my videos when i delete them from my list. Until I get answers and better customer support I will not stop pointing out and write reviews to short these issues out.

It drowns out the dog barking sound from inside the house Also if I use the chime should I turn off rings and motion sound in the app? I had the ring Pro for about 3 weeks it's been rough sitting up but I will not give up because I really like its features once again thank you so much for taking the time to make this video

I just got mine & wanted an easy way to see how its installed.. Looks easy & make me feel safer. Once everything gets connected together.

Which doorbell would you recommend which is having most of ring video door bell features and even comes with a screen to install inside the house to view when one comes home?

Question: can one leave a pre-recorded greeting that would come on when someone rings the bell, say, if you are asleep or out of town and wish to make it seem that you are home and can't open the app or reach your phone. The simulated greeting and pre-rendered conversation would automatically switch-on in substitution of your own voice or a live person.

If it doesn't work with wired power that's a show stopper for me. I dont want to have to worry, and monitor a battery.

I returned the Ring pro for a Ring 2 after changing out the doorbell transformer. The image quality has improved with the Ring 2 but typically I only get recordings as people are walking away from the camera. I still have yet to actually answer the door with the Ring app using a Samsung S10+. The app will let me know that somebody is at the door and promptly lock up so I cannot speak with the visitor.

My front door is in a setback. Wide-angle wouldn't be necessary. However, the Ring 2 looks easy to se up even for a rookie! Any other camera suggestion for a setback application? Thanks. John

I love my Ring Pro. I do wish however there was a way to have 24/7 recording similar to Nestcams. When Nest hello comes out, I'm going to have to consider changing just because of that one reason.

I have had the Ring doorbell for a few months and am learning that it does not capture all people who come to my door. Just today there were two instances; 1st something was left a few inches from the doorbell, 2nd I left something for a person who came, picked up the pkg. Neither of these instances were recorded. I'm not so satisfied with this Ring.

excellent video i have the Ring 2 also but I have been have been having problems with it.

Nest should really stick to thermostats for now. Their security system is really expensive in such a competitive market where you CAN find equipment for less. You guys should really check out Armorax and make sure to ask about any deals they have going on. They always have some promotion or the other going on.

Can you have user specific settings among multiple users using the app like say it always alerts when it rings on my mom's mobile but not on my dad's mobile?

Thanks for the video. Does it show up as hardwired within the app all the time? Mine showed hardwired icon twice for maybe 1 hour total, and it's been on battery icon ever since. I'm not sure if it is supposed to charge the battery all the time. Mine is draining the battery very fast. Thanks!

I just installed the ring doorbell 2 and find it's OK. I had an incident outside my house and wanted to review the footage but it didn't record it. It recorded the 1st 20 seconds of motion then stopped, the incident happened after the 20 seconds. Is there anyway of getting footage after the 20 seconds? If not then it's not that good. It takes a snapshot (photo) every hour but that's no good if something happens outside your fence inside each hourly snapshot! 🤔 I have the 30 day free trial so any motion detection is captured but only 20 seconds which is some cases is useless! Any feedback to help would be greatly appreciated 👍

Great review of the Ring 2 video doorbell. The best that I have seen so far. How important is it mount the video doorbell at the correct height? I believe Ring suggest to mount the doorbell at 4 feet. 4 feet seems too low to me, why not mount it out 5 to 5 1/2 feet (the avg height of someone ringing the doorbell). I just purchased the Ring 2 and I have yet to install it, I would assume that Ring has corrected some of the issues reported on the earlier versions. Would you please elaborate. Thank you.

Followed your video and great explanation. My Ring has great video and sound only on my iPhone, no sound at the device with my iPhone 6. When I setup my iPad, it worked but the sound was barely audible. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the review. I learned how to use the app from your video. I do have two questions. I noticed that one of your sample videos ran for over 3 minutes, how do you set the length of the recording? The most I have ever had is for 30 seconds. The other question is what happens when I don't have cloud storage, can I still see what the camera sees? Is there a way to store videos on my computer? One comment, I have hardwired my Ring and I had Century Link HS Internet but the upload was less than 1.0 mps, I had to switch service in order to get the wifi connection to work with the Ring Doorbell.

how to get notifications when i'm away from home over the app ?

If I do NOT hard-wire it to my existing doorbell wiring, can it still ring my traditional existing doorbell chime? It's useless to me if it won't ring the old chime on the wall when pressed. Thanks.

You skipped the Link Chimes app. I just installed my video ring doorbell and on my app it has that am I supposed to do anything? I only have the doorbell and my phone had me pick a sound for it on my phone but not in that app!?!? What to do?

Thanks for the solid info/review. Is there a way to make the windows (or phone) app play a sound when the doorbell button is pushed? I'm trying to set set a Ring 2 up for a friend, and it only makes her phone vibrate when the doorbell button is pushed. Does she need the chime device for that?

In order to work fully you must have high speed wifi/internet. At least 2.0 upload and download. Live view will not work if you don't have these settings.

I wish the night vision was a bit clearer than what it shows

The phone tries to use the already installed app and I do not have authority to add a user. Besides that issue I want to keep the work account separate from my home account. Can you help me?

Hey, how can I get the ring to Record motion longer because it stops recording in the middle of any emotion that is going on so if there is an illegal activity in front of my door I will only get half or part of that activity

So there is LIVE on demand footage? As in, I can always check my porch at work at anytime? Or is it only if theres Motion?

I have a pet cat that goes outside. Will my cat trigger the motion detector and notify me every time she goes in front of the ring doorbell?

My motion zones do not look like yours instead it’s a snap shot with blue rays it makes it difficult to tune it to certain areas my house is about 20 feet from the street I have it set to min and it still alerts when cars pass

Hi! Thanks for the review. I have a question please. We travel quite a bit and I’ve noticed that we never get alerts when we’re away. No events are saved while we’re away either. When we are local, we get them but not when we are outside of our time zone. Is this a shortcoming or can it be fixed in settings?

I have Ring Door Beel 2 and it does not send notifications for ring or motion instantly. It gets delayed from 5-30 seconds. There is a delay.
