1:52:18 Frasher wasn't doing the Mighty Pectoralis Major (ring press) properly even after the initial confusion at the beginning. His arms were away from his body when the image on the left shown your arms strait down with your elbow bent 90 degrees to hold the ring, and the motion was pushing into the ring. No wonder it started to hurt a completely different muscle area.

That's probably not the issue. When you do chest flys the elbows are out to your sides. I think the main issue is that the resistance of these bands are too low. Muscles work in conjunction, a bench press will hit chest and triceps. If you try to bench press with 1 lb dumbbells it becomes tricep dominant necause the weight is so low that it's easy to move with just the triceps. If you increase the weight to say 50% of your max bench the triceps cant move the weight by themselves so your body naturally recruits more of the larger pec muscles. Lifting is also about developing a good neuromuscular connection, it helps to really focus and visualize the chest contracting, it cues the pecs to fire. If you just go through the motions in a blase kind of way you wont get as much benefit. For something like light cardio or physical therapy I can see the value of this game. But for actual strength building, there's no substitute for moving a heavy weight.

The "Outside Canada" thing makes perfect sense to me. You had your Switch configured for North American English, so all it needed to do after that was narrow it down to either Canada or one of the many countries the United States split into after the 2020 election led to a second civil war. Nintendo knows what's up. Odd that the New California Republic still uses imperial units, though. That part was a surprise.

As someone who’s played a bit more than a few hours of the game, I think there are important things to add about the game, especially the adventure mode. First: it consistently adds workouts and, more importantly, game mechanics, for a really long time. There is a armor system, potion system, attack management system, and eventually, a skill tree (none of which go by those names, probably to avoid scaring off non-RPG players). In essence, there IS a decent progression, you just don’t see it for a decent while. Second: the story isn’t really a full story but more of a path to explain the game maps’ shapes, but it’s good enough and is propped up by the game mechanics once you get there. Lastly, planks are murderous.

Dear Frash, about the migthy pectoralis mayor exercise (arround 1:52:00 on the video), your elbows were pointing to the sides, the Tipp dude was showing pointing down, maybe that posture hurts your upper pecs. Btw I really like your review and maybe will try this on our summer.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I believe that if the video title says "AWESOME!" with the exclamation point, that means Fraser is giving at least an okay or pass despite any negativity on his part. No exclamation point (like when they tried out 1-2 Switch) means he REALLY didn't like it. So at least Fraser sees some value in what Nintendo is attempting with Ring Fit. But I agree with others who wish he would not act like it was going to kill him to give Nintendo any kind of complement. We still don't know what his reaction to the actual reveal trailer was (granted the presenters were creepy). It was like he was determined going in to not like it at all.

I've been thinking about this game and it's potential usage for people. I'd say it's definitely a good idea for individuals that find they get virtually no exercise throughout the day, the week, the months, and beyond. With some willpower, and drive to become better than you currently are, and if you normally don't get much exercise, this might be the answer that some people could use for a solution to a desire to change oneself. They just need the drive, and willpower to press forward with it. To a certain extent, turning exercise into a kind-of-RPG experience might actually make sense for some of us. Is this game for people that already workout, do cardio, and maybe have a gym membership? Probably not. You'd get more range from what you're already doing and don't need this game to motivate you since you've already found your motivation long before it ever existed. The main thing I'm really concerned with is the aftermath of a single stream with a single workout in the tutorial area of the game and not a week long or even month long experience with this game doing an hour every other day. Frasher and Becky might change there minds or see more value in this when they actually have more experience with it. If I went to the gym, and a "pro trainer" appears and says they've only been working out for a day (a few days at best), and they don't look very fit, should I as a veteran or newcomer listen to them knowing that they lack experience and credentials? Frasher played this for a single stream, and I respect how he feels about the game, but exercise for us humans requires a lot more invested time to really understand, see and feel the results. In closing, I would like to know if anyone that watched this stream and went out to get the game that also follow a regular menu (exercise at least three times a week for an hour or two for an entire month, 30 days using Ring Fit Adventure), tell me how you started, what improvements you've experienced, if you ended up losing weight from number X to number Y, and after at least this much usage, did you find worth buying this game to help motivate you to better yourself and become healthier for it?

A KZfaq channel called ‘Kantokid’ is playing through the whole game on intense difficulty for an hour (or longer) a day, until he beats the game. He logged the weight he started with (he’s over 300 lbs) and is updating his weight every stream. It’s also good to watch to see what’s added in later in the game (there’s quite a lot actually, towns with shops, side-quests, skill trees, etc.)

It works and is well worth the money if you take it seriously. I bought it and play somewhere between an hour to 2 hours a day ( which I would normally spend at a gym). It works well in every aspect other than gaining muscle mass (which is something I really wasn't looking for). At the end of the day if you play it and take it as serious as you would a gym visit it can legit cut out needing a gym.

I didn't enjoy this video very much although I like the game. You nitpick a lot :/ Your switch region is north America, it's a valid question to ask you're in Canada or not. I live in Europe and it asked if I was in UK or not (the only country in this region that uses different measurements). And then you (well Fraser mostly) were super impatient... and you didn't do the forms properly although it would have showed you if you didn't skip it. You got frustrated because you wanted to hate it from the start. I'm disapointed. Like hating in it for valid reasons is one thing, hating cause you won't bother with basic stuff is not a fun watch.

I do p. ed. and worked in gyms and schools for 5 years. This is fun to watch because of you guys, but the gym teacher in me is cringing at this "game", oy. This could be really good training IF the person knew all the movements beforehand, how to posture, how to use the abs to isolate the right muscles and relax the others, DEFINITELY NOT recommending doing it without proper shoes for christ' sake =_____=. Doesn't matter if it's a game, if it's fun, playful, whatever. You're still commanding a person to use her body in their own house with no correct supervision. The harm it could do in short and long term is just... dear lord. Even at the gym I explain and correct my students aaaaaaalll the time. After several classes, they can still do something wrong that can hurt them cause it takes time for the brain and body to sinc if you're not used to those movements. I have to explain HOW to push and release the right muscles, how to make sure they're not tensing up the wrong parts (like the neck, like Fraser said), etc, etc etc. I would've been on both your asses the entire game cause you're so focused on the game itself that you don't fully pay attention to those kinds of things. Posture was killing me, the abs needed to be in contraction during the whole exercise, and no shoes... lord help me, I love Nintendo and I know they mean well, but this is sooooo dangerous. If you study physiology, anatomy, biochemestry, biomechanics, etc you understand how harmful this could be. Squats, the ab workout on the floor, the way you press and pull the pilates ring, those need to be supervised. If, say, Fraser were to do this workout 2 to 3 times a week, the way he was doing it, he would have lower back, knees and shoulder problems in a few months to max 2 years. And I mean PROBLEMS, things that can't be solved, like losing your kneecap or shoulder cartilage, probably a hernia or two in the back, and god knows what else. He could break his ankle just by having fun in the game running fast with no shoes on. And the balls thing was hilarious, but that also could be harmful long term wise. One of the classes I teach is Zumba, and the Zumba games are more... well, less outrageous I guess, cause dancing is dangerous with or without a teacher if you don't have a good body awareness, but I still don't like them for anyone who doesn't fully understand the concept of the space you need, what kind of floor you have and what kind of shoes you should use for that floor, little things like that, that a teacher, in class, would (hopefully) point out to their students. If they do those things correctly, it's a relatively fair way to have some fun and get your bpm up, so it's an okay cardio to do at home under those circumstances. But youtube videos, fitness games, etc... Nope. Don't agree, Don't like 'em. Never will. I'm extremely careful with my students cause I have a knee injury due to a bad teacher that will never heal, and I don't ever wanna do that to anyone. I'd say 98% of my students, young, old, male, female, have some type of problem. Back, knee, shoulders, wrist, etc. Most people have some kind of problem cause of bad posture and lack of body awareness, fault of health profissionals that till veeery recently only worried about mass gain and weight loss. Now things are getting a little better. Hopefully the second generation after us, we'll have worked all the kinks and people will have a chance of living a healthier lifestyle since childhood. Sorry, I'm very VERY passionate about my work and a big mama bear to my students so seeing this kind og games frustrates me soooo much and I go on rambles. I'll go home now XD But either way, you guys are AWESOME (pun intended) and hilarious!!!!! Kisses and hugs from Brazil ^~^
