My wife and I were in SW Ireland the first 2 weeks in April (2024). We did not have the best weather, but made the best of it. Beara was my favorite, and thanks to your videos, we saw many memorable sights (sites). Thank you for adding much to our trip.

I think you'll love the Ring of Beara. Keep an eye on this channel, as soon we'll be posting a 'Ring of Beara in 1 Day' video. Of course, Cashelkeelty will be part of it :)

I think you will love the hiking here in SW-Ireland. Not as high as some of the places you shoot your videos, but the surroundings are beautiful and have a very potent and distinct feel to it!

Great video! Any particular woodland/area in Beara you would recommend for wildlife Pine Marten, Badger, Stoat?

Thanks for asking the question. This video is somewhat misleading, meaning that Beara is actually really, really barren. There are not that many wooded areas around, even though this video shows a nice small wood outside Lauragh. Your best bet is going to be Glengarriff Woods Nature Reserve, at the start of Beara. You might also get lucky around Gougane Barra - that's technically not on Beara, but close by enough. Hope that helps.

Thank you for this informative video. Greatly appreciate it! We are going on June, 4 and my hubby is on crutches right now. Can we still do this walk if he is still on crutches and roughly how long was the hike to the first circle? I timed the video but wasn't sure how accurate it would be. Thanks for the help and any extra advice you have! :)

I thought the stones at 7:45 was one of the stone circles! I went there a couple of weeks ago to take drone footage and only realised when I got back that I in fact did not take footage of anything historically significant (I did take footage of the most visable and in tact one though along with the stone row) You're right. They are not listed on the Historic Environment Viewer so apparently the stones at 7:45 happen to appear like a stone circle. And I thought the ones at 12:15 were another stone row! I am amazed that it turns out they are an incomplete part of a stone circle.

7:45 is quite deceiving, isn't it? Now, this is what the archaeological survey maps states. Of course, that doesn't mean it can't be wrong...

How far is it from car part to the circle

Hi! Can you tell me about how long each path takes?

If you go right into the forest from the car park, it is about 45 minutes to the site. Steep parts in the forest section though! If you go left at the car park, follow the road for 100m and then follow the treck we do in the video, it is about an hour's walk. Both estimates are if you are walking slowly, leisurely enjoying the surroundings.
