I found this video because someone in the next neighborhood shared a pic on FB of a man trying to break into their house at 1 a.m. which was captured by one of these gadgets. The person on film has been seen by other residents trying to break in, but no one had him on video until now

Just 5 years ago ring alarms and bells weren’t common now they’re everywhere and affordable. Happy to have both.

Somebody recently broke into my house and I went face to face with them then the cops came and now have 2 of these doorbells

I purchased a Ring about 4-5 years ago. My first experience was while across town getting a haircut, I received a notification and I saw a guy in front of my door and I heard my wife answer and open the door. I saw him very very clear and could hear everything that was said as if I was standing there with them. My on suggestion is to have it hard wired instead of using batteries.

I was on the "fence" about a RING doorbell, but this video sold me! Going to Best Buy tomorrow to buy one!

that looks pretty interesting, price is a bit high but it does look pretty good. Do you happen to know what voltage the doorbell wiring inside your house is ? must be something low like 12V DC since you touched it and survived, i'm not sure what other countries use but they might not be compatible

How do you pair the internal WiFi chime to the outside unit.? Mine rings intermittently without anyone pressing the outside unit.

just bought the video doorbell 2 we have one on the front door and one on the back door/garage so we bought two of the video doorbell two and one spotlight camera with solar for the back yard

My doorbell had problems with the hardwire where it doesn’t receive power and using the internal battery update I replaced the doorbell with the ring doorbell 2 and I wired the original on my battery power that totaled 12v and it started to work drawing power from the hardwire but I already had changed the doorbell

Great review Jordan, 2 Q's: Apart from charge and bell the existing system, does it work with the handset? I got mine installed on kitchen, usually a better way to answer with dirty hands instead a mobile touch screen. Typical handsets work with only that two wires. Second question is about the cloud services. If you dont pay suscriptions, doesnt it even take a picture an store on internal memory? Many low grade chinnese -wired, no ip- devices do that, so since after more than a year without the promissed "on demand live feed" it could be a good feature if you miss the answer window. Hello. What options are there for mounting. We cant attach to the door frame with screws and the walls are extremely uneven stones so no option to screw any mounting plate. Our current wireless doorbell came with a tailored double sided sticker of sorts. Thanks any ideas and advice welcomes

how do you remove the "missed activities " from the log? you can swipe left and get a red trash can for those you answer. ..but no trash can on missed activities

The fact that the mount has a leveler included...wooow. I likes. Looks like a good product. Would be nice if it were able to pair with other wireless chimes not made by Ring but I can see why that wouldn't be an option.

Does this doorbell only notify you on your phone or does it come with a device that you can plug into the wall that rings also? I do not have an existing doorbell or wires so the device will have to be used completely wireless.

Good video BUT for 1 suggestion. You mentioned that it would ring the "chimes" in the house, however, did not say anything about the chimes coming with the doorbell. Do they? or do you have to buy the chimes separately?

Amazing. Great review. Great looking product, and I love that it has IFTTT support. You could do things like turn a light on i the doorbell is rung (though this will probably infuriate the person ringing if you turn a light on but don't answer the door. Maybe link the doorbell to a vacuum cleaner, so the vacuum comes on after the doorbell is rung, so they think you're in but didn't hear the bell and won't be able to hear subsequent bells? Anyway I definitely want this thing and will wait for the price to fall a bit.

Yes, these ring video doorbell's are awesome. I love mine!

Is it water resistant? Can I install it outdoor and the rain won`t damaged it?

After purchasing this device for some times I have two thoughts: 1. Sometimes you will get motion notification way later. I'd pull out from drive way and on my way to the next block before my phone notifies me of motion at my door from my car pulling out. I don't know if this is a internet speed issue or the Ring server problem. 2. When your free cloud trial is finished, there is no way to view previous videos. If motion is detected, you must use your phone and look at it immediately or you will never be able to view it again. This time frame is very short, annoying when you get to your phone a few seconds late and want to see what's going on outside.

Hi, a friend of mine sais he has to wait a long time to see the live video when someone's at the door. This often causes the person ringing at the door to leave before the live video is available. Anyone else had this problem?

Does it have to be screwed on to the front of your house? or can you stick it with something like command strips which won't leave any lasting damage? I am considering a ring doorbell, but I live in a private rented house with shared access to my neighbour's house to the back of my house, but I am also multi sensory, vision and hearing impaired, which is why I'm looking into something like the ring video doorbell.
