The parish church of Tignale (Italy) was built in the 9th century on the foundations of an ancient oratory, built in the 6th century after the passage of the holy bishop Vigilius. The church was rebuilt in the 11th century, when the new bell tower was constructed, which is still the original one today. The belfry was added in the 17th century, when the construction was completed with a new cone roof in the Gothic style. Since 1819, the tower has had five very beautiful bells, cast in a flat area following the F major scale. Two of these bells have broken in the course of the history of this sacred place.

The bells are ringing festively at the end of a baptism, marking the moment when a child has finally become a child of God. The computer of the bells contains several hundred melodies, according to tradition simulating the sound as on a piano keyboard.

The church was rebuilt after the year 1000, obtaining various privileges from the pope. The church had passed from Trento to the Bishop of Verona, who inaugurated it as new in the 16th century. The Longobard baptistery was rebuilt together with the church, only to be incorporated into the new structure inaugurated after the mid-1600s. The old Romanesque bell tower was reinforced and raised, with the construction of the new belfry, while in the following century the interior was equipped with a new pipe organ and magnificent paintings. The church was inaugurated with the new high altar at the end of the 18th century, suffering severe damage during a bombing raid at the end of World War II. Reconstruction lasted ten years, during which the roof was rebuilt. The parish church is located in an incredible panoramic position, from where one has one of the most beautiful views of Lake Garda.
