I will donate one of my cars to a banger race with only one condition. The thiefs of those two American classics have to drive it without protective gear.

The owners of these cars should sue those who put on the race. Several tracks that I've been to in the states require the pricer to provide proof of ownerships so this exact thing can be avoided.

@@buckrogers2828 read the article just now and said the ford is the only one registered in country. They were both stolen within days of each other twenty miles apart

@@buckrogers2828 both were stolen a month prior to this event and the wagon is the only one of that model year registered in the country

@@speedy7892 they were stolen a week before only 30 minutes away from the track and the ford was the only one in the country and the pontiac was one of two in the country

As a young kid I loved figure-8 races and demo-derbies which is probably why none of my toy trucks are around anymore. I get the attraction of the noise and destructive action but, as a seasoned person I have too much appreciation for old steel to see it destroyed; especially when it is someone else's pride and joy. I hope the morons who entered recently stolen vehicles in a very public event get lots of time to think what selfish idiots they are. I also hope that the previous owners are able to get recompense even if it won't replace their darlings.

He was posting about it on Facebook. Everyone knows who he is, not to mention the fact that the track knew it was stolen and told by police not to let it or the country squire out.

Sounds like it was a well deserved closure. I wonder how many other folks have been ripped off, with their vehicles being destroyed by this organization...

Yes the facts.. The organisation did know that these cars were stolen because several phone calls to stop the race were just ignored and they let the race go ahead and also the 2 coombs scum brothers had a life ban..

@@jamiebunsell3299 all I have to do is watch the video. According to reports, the folks were well known. I'm positive this wasn't their first time and obviously the organization doesn't mind turning a blind eye to theft. They obviously make it a point to not verify ownership before destruction. So yep, definitely the organization!

@@jamiebunsell3299 when you have an organization that enables and encourages theft, by not verifying ownership "before" the derby/destruction, that is considered complicity. Being complicit may not be a jail serving crime but certainly does not make them any less guilty.

It's a whole other level of evil to steal someone's mint condition rare American classic and then just destroy it for no reason, and with no purpose. It genuinely disgusts me. The amount of pain I'd feel if this happened to me would be immense, especially because the two guys weren't caught and there's a video of the senseless and childish destruction for the world to see.

Sad race tracks in united states shutting down left and right due to land development and no support from drivers and fans and cost of racing got very high. And tracks for other types of motorsports are shutting down in different countries as well very sad to see last race of any type of racetrack
