Still my favorite Western of all time. The combination of John Wayne and Dean Martin was pure gold. Add to that Walter Brennan as Stumpy and its as unforgettable as it can get. Then you have Ricky Nelson on top of all that. Just awesome.

It's safe to say that this scene holds a special place in many people's lives especially as it relates to their dad, (most of ours, gone but never forgotten). How mine loved Western movies, especially this scene. Childhood was so special back then when Christmas still meant something and money and material wasn't everything. When people were praised for doing the right thing and respect had a place in family life and society. We didn't have computers and smartphones but we had love.

One of my favorite movies. I remember kids saying that Ricky Nelson wanted to be the next Elvis but I always argued that he had his own style.

Ricky was long before Elvis. Elvis wound up with Ricky's band.

Schade
