Turning point performance? Rio is ignoring the first 75 minutes. For the 5th consecutive match, we had zero threat down the left, and only improved after Switzerland scored and Southgate was forced into making changes.

Kane just doesn't get there service up top, seems like so many of them are scared to switch gears and make a difference with a brilliant run/pass/skill/shot. The subs made the difference again but I think that'll happen no matter who starts. Gareth just has to give them boys the pep treatment and tell them even if they sub in that they are match winners. The sub timing just have to be better and earlier. Give the subs time to impact the game

@@sundayosita588 I think that term has shifted. When I was growing up, that phrase was reserved for players like R9, Zidane, etc. So, when you compare, Saka is definitely not cut from that cloth. However, in this era, you could probably class him as world class. Tbh, even players like Mbappe are overhyped.

Certainly never showed any animosity towards those unlucky lads 3 years ago, nor been racist at any point either myself but to have to bleat on and on about it bores me. To have to listen to uneducated people (was hoping they'd disappear once they stopped playing) such as Ferdinand, Lampard, Rooney and Carragher makes me want to vomit. Loyalty, basic English, manners, etc has never been on these types' itinerary. Far, far from role models. Ironically none of those aforementioned 4 are particularly popular amongst fellow pros. Bellingham already too big for his boots but already adored by so many and due to his colour one must be careful to not be called out as racist if criticising him. He has a big head already and really isn't that good. Same as calling Ronaldo World class. Can't accept that as cheats aren't world class. Nor cry babies. Well done Saka though. With regards to Southgate you only have to ask yourself the question - “what would Pep do with this squad or what would Klopp do with this squad”. The difference would be glaring you in the face, Southgate is an absolute liability and the team gets where they get to in tournaments despite him not because of him.

But perhaps not. They don't have international experience, it's very different to domestic. It wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't work. They also not English so not the same feeling for them. Worth a go maybe. But not sure Klopp would work very well with the media, that's also important factor. Also Togetherness and resilience is very important in tournaments.

Also if England do win the tournament it will be down to brilliance of the players, maybe not southgate as such. But that's fine right? The team are the ones that play....not Southgate. Yes winning things certainly helps. Kane is lucky that there is limited strikers around in this generation. But compare him to former greats of the past he doesn’t get near them. Saka is not world class. He is good player but he is no Vini or mbappe or salah. All these guys show up in big moments in big games and get there teams to the big games. Comon rio we was boring again, apart from sakas goal we was the same as the other games, sideways and backward passes over n over, only time the game changed when palmer came on n injected a bit of energy, kane was poor again n just aint got the pace to affect the games, ollie watkins should of started, he'd absolutely destroy these defenders we'v faced so far, is great at stretching the game and will constantly make those runs in behind, kane looks knackered n drops way to deep, we need against Holland Palmer and Watkins in the team, I'd drop kane, and bellingham for Watkins and Palmer n give those 2 a rest n bring em on if needed after 60-70 mins, I think Gordon should be brought on too and use his pace with Watkins to get in behind with sakas on the right doing the same, these games are crying out for a striker who can go in behind or break quick, kane isn't that striker, he'd be more useful as a late sub when there tired n he can keep up, safegate.. Is too defensive minded n need to let us off the leash
